Re: Advice for a 1/2oz jig rod and some long-winded musings.

The FMJ is a helluva 1/2oz jig rod in my opinion. It's a special rod in my arsenal...one I find myself reaching for often. Extremely sensitive in my hands. I can't imagine you'd be left desiring much more.

Re: Chatterbait rod

The Javelin is awesome. It's currently my primary chatterbait stick. If you like 7'5" go for it. If you want something a little shorter, go Daemos. Although I will say, cndbasshunter's CQ843/903 idea could be fun too 8-)

Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer

It's the "Direct Sensor Gripping" system. In my hands, it's very comfortable in both the matte and gloss finish. I was surprised myself, but I really like it. The TiSiC guides are a very nice touch on the US Destroyer models. I think the Japan anglers got jealous and wanted their own TiSiC model :l...

Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer

It refers to the reel seat hood/locking nut. They are similar to, if not the same as the ‘17 US Destroyers.. In addition, the lineup is basically the '16 JDM Destroyers with SiC guides vs Alconites.

Just to echo the above.. nothing to worry about with ergonomics. It's probably my favorite reel to palm.

If you're sticking to the XX lineup, I would go FSS or DSR

Re: must have megabass rods?

Lot of great info on some older Megabass goodies in this thread.. a lot of which has influenced quite a few of my rod purchases. But of the newer stuff I have, and I believe that these are must haves for me, each with that Megabass "it" factor are: 2017 USA Destroyer - FMJ & Javelin 2016 JDM Destroy...
