Re: 2 more broken MB rods...Ughhhh

I understand when its my fault but 300$ rods shouldn't bust under normal fishing conditions. Although it is a common practice... boat flipping fish is not a normal fishing f condition and not what a fishing rod is designed to do. Sure, some can handle it, and that might be a plus, but it is not nor...

Abu Versart

Here’s something new in the horizon. I’ve yet to try an Abu rod. These look pretty cool. If I’m gathering things correctly, these are intended to be priced at the lower end, but with some good trickle down of tech from Abu’s higher end offerings. Also, an emphasis on versatility as the name suggests...

Re: Looking for a swim bait rod 2-5 oz

First day out with the Onager yesterday. First impressions, light and well balanced. For some reason it reminds me of the Steez XBD frog rod, in a larger more powerful version. Could not experience much of it, since after maybe 30mins of fishing, the rod snapped (after the 3rd guide). Looks like th...

Re: Designo leben and vantage

Does anyone know where these Armada rods with fit in? I’m not sure if it’s by Designo or another maker using Designo blanks? I think Aquaftm mentioned Randoule (sp?) as the new top of the line by Designo. So would these be considered more entry level? Still not cheap by any means. Can’t find much o...

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

Honest to God - have taken my reel "servicing hat" off and put my "fisho to fisho" deep and meaningful hat on - get your reel pre loved with decent greases and a good application of a water shedding grease on all internal surfaces and you'll have a longer lasting reel, if not for the performance ga...

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

When people buy these reels - does anyone actually consider getting them pre serviced? It would avoid the issues of things gumming up and corroding. This is something I hadn’t considered. In my case, it may only become an issue of need if/when I begin fishing salt. I am a life long fresh water angl...

Re: 2020 Zillion 10

I own both a 10 and a regular sv tw. I took the regular Sv TW in salt for a week long trip knowing there were going to be likely consequences. Cleaned it up as best as a regular dude can after. Anyway, based on that experience, I can’t imagine taking the 10 in salt would be a good idea. I won’t. I ...

Oldie but a goodie, maybe one day I will finally get around to spooling it up and fishing it.

Wow; very cool. You have to wonder how many of these are floating around in that condition. I would think you’d turn heads with that even in Japan.

Gliding small

I picked up some smalish glides as they became available at the stateside JDM retailers. These look just like all the forage in my lakes and are fairly easy to learn. The rods I'm currently swimbaiting with (a monstruo 74 and a Leben Slang Hood) seemed like a bit too much rod for these smallish glid...
