Re: OG Zillion Variations
This interests also me that which reel has lighter spool (and lower line capacity?) and what kind of inductor (and bearings) there is and what use which reel is meant for… The deps dr 100zx has a locked down drag and many use it for frogs. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I have a tendency ...

Yeah; FL is wild. That Dec spawn can happen in a night, depending on the lake and year

Re: Conquest Skeptic
Pre-spawn pattern in full swing this weekend where I fish in central FL. The early birds are sniffing out future spots. 904c plus zillion sv tw in 9.1 is an unfair advantage.

Re: Evoluzion super diablo
Agree that it is the best looking rod I have ever seen, very comfortable to fish also. But with more use I personally found it not as versatile as other rods like the Nautilus or Javelin. While it is super sensative it is for me a little to slow of an action and soft to get good hooksets with flour...

Re: Red tune 60th TW; who’s in the goods?
Some of the previous Red Tune reels were centrifugal brakes with a 'mag dial'. I'm guessing they were externally adjustable centrifugal? I see the SV and G1 stamping on the Steez Red Tune TW spool but the lettering is not colored to stand out. I don't see SV mentioned in the Daiwa site for this ree...

Jigging or casting, I’d still like to see some photos. Anyone who has one or gets one, please do post. Thanks

Re: Red tune 60th TW; who’s in the goods?
Huh; mystery for now regarding the breaks. On that red tune 60th site, daiwa advertises the zero adjuster, sv spool, 3rd generation TW (didn’t know there were some many already) on this red tune as all casting improvements. Would seem strange to push that on a vertical jigging reel. Found a pic of o...

Red tune 60th TW; who’s in the goods?
Anyone here order one of these unicorns? I’d love to see some tackle porn if you did. Please. I have my pop up blockers set on high alert in anticipation of some images.

Re: Valkyrie Spiral Wrapped Rod
I'm interested in this stick.. does anyone have it in hand yet? I just came inside a few minutes ago after fishing 71H spiral the past hour. My initial thoughts are in a thread in enthusiast section. I really like the rod. I’m fishing it primarily in 1-2 ft of water right now in thick semi dead slo...

Re: High Speed Reels (9:1 Type)
[quote="poisonokie"]In my experience, the faster the reel, the noisier the gears, even brand new. I think it just has to do with more torque going through a smaller pinion. At ~30% faster than a 6.3, the pinion and spool are flying around by comparison. I haven't had any issues with gear wear in my ...

Re: High Speed Reels (9:1 Type)
I’ve fished a 9.1 zillion sv tv for two years and an 8.1 for about 8 months. I fish 300-320 day/year for at least few hours (more hrs on weekends). Also, I use them for moving baits a lot and I often bank and dock fish on the lake I live on—lots of long casts. The 9.1 looks heavily used. Lots on li...
