Re: Spoons...where have you been my whole life?

Ever since I bought my first UL casting setup I began enjoying spoons. Normally just the basic cheap ones you get from walmart but with better trebles, normally Decoy's best offerings. Catches a ton of small fish, walleye like them too; just very hard to get them unhooked at times.

Re: Differences w/ Chronarch G vs MGL??

They cast pretty similar except the fact that the MGL spool is a few grams lighter so it can cast lighter lures. I have actually been very impressed with the MGL's finesse ability. The G has the same braking system and a slightly heavier spool, but that is mainly attributed to a metal considered mor...

Re: What's your rarest Oneten

I only have a few, very common ones, really looking forward to what this thread uncovers. I have seen some awesome MB patterns for the 110 on here.

Re: Are all new zillions made in Thailand?

Even if they were assembled in Japan, it isn't created in the Japanese factory. Thailand did the CT Tatula and SV TW Zillion bodies and other parts, so even if there were special models listed that way, they originally came from the Thailand plant. Just like there was a recent Daiwa spinning reel th...

Re: (SUL) Super Ultra Light?

The new honey comb spool has been fine for me, using 8lb Sufix 832 (.007 inch, .18mm). I don't keep up with the gram weight, but a 1/16 jig head and Bobby Garland Baby Shad (small 2" plastic) shouldn't weigh much more than 3 grams, which is around 1/10 of an ounce I think...

Re: Baitcasting Reel: Single knob handle instead of double?

There are always heavier duty reels like the Tranx that have a single balanced knob too. I think Shimano offers the HG version with a big single. Maybe some Lexa heavy duty reels have a single big knob too??? I know there was a Revo Toro that came with a single handle in the box.

Making Online Videos

Does anyone have suggestions for equipment for beginning online videos? I don't really have the best fishing here, so the majority would be equipment breakdowns/reviews, or simple tests. I also only have a laptop right now, so a stronger computer might be necessary. Just any base suggestions of what...

Re: (SUL) Super Ultra Light?

Yesterday I put Quantum Enerpy PT Burner to SUL Kuying Teton, just because Quantum is most compact baitcaster that I currently have (It's really low profile reel vs. Daiwa's). Heck, that reel was heavy :-) It is 7.8 oz. My idea was to put my sv tw Zillion (with BFS spool) to SUL Kuying Teton for te...

Re: My Ultimate NED setup!!!

Thanks, no rush here though. It will be a while before I buy any rods. Just had a tree land on BOTH of our cars. Sounds bad but both are drive able still. The 99' Chevy Blazer is pretty tough, caved the roof in a bit and still drives like new. Looks like hammered hell and creature comforts are all ...

Re: '19 Scorpion MGL 150

From my best guess of reading Japanese, my box says there's 7 bearings. Thanks. If it has 7+1, they probably added one to the levelwind, normally the Scorpions are a slightly upgraded Curado. Also possible that the count is identical to the Curado K, and it was a simple misprint to list as 7+1 rath...

Re: My Ultimate NED setup!!!

Word. I have asked a few times before about Major Craft rods, knowing that might make me hunt a ML to eventually replace my TFO ML casting rod. The TFO has a very progressive bend for a "fast" so a Major Craft should fill the gap nicely one day. I am down to use most NED style heads, but I don't li...

Re: '19 Scorpion MGL 150

From my best guess of reading Japanese, my box says there's 7 bearings. From the way the handle knobs turn, they feel like there's only bushings in there. As for the levelwind, I'm not sure on that on yet. I keep a pretty good stash of those bearings in the shop and I usually add them to all my ree...

Re: Shimano SLX XT

Shimano Australia has a new SLX XT casting reel. It looks similar to the new MGL but without the MGL spool. Shimano fanboy REELTEST bought one . He thinks it would kill off the Tatula if it comes to the US. Yeah I heard him mention that whole "KILL OFF" line. Kinda made me pause and say What...

Re: My Ultimate NED setup!!!

What model is that NRX??? I couldn't make it out for some reason... Also, to okie, what model is the MS-X? I was trying to figure that out myself. All I can tell is that it looks like it's 7' something". It's the 65L/BF. Using 8# J-Braid to 6# Invizx leader. It slings, pitches, and skips those Neds...

Re: '19 Scorpion MGL 150

I can't figure out the bearings on the Scorpion MGL. It is much like that Bantam MGL dilemma which never got resolved (claims 8 bearings on US website and schematics say 9, like JDM Bantam MGL's claim). The Scorpion MGL is different though, the Curado K has a 7 total system, which is the key most im...
