Re: Need a brass gear set for the Met DC

Yea i've read this on the older forum threads, but i am looking at higher end gears, if there's any that are compatible with the Met DC. Has anyone tried the Chronarch ci4 or chronarch mgl gears inside the Metanium DC? I really don't want to order these buzzing aluminium gears from the met dc again...

Re: Daiwa Z2020 vs Calcutta Conquest DC 201HG

I would take the z2020 over anything and everything available if you're looking for a large reel (unless you need high line capacity of course). All z2020 have paint issues, new or old. I haven’t had any problems or heard and problem with the Deps Paint I've seen plenty on ebay and other auction si...

Re: Need a brass gear set for the Met DC

I think the 2015 Met DC and Curado 200k have interchangeable drive gears, and then you need to use the pinion gear from the Met. Tackle trap has the sets ready to go here: https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=898_792_793 Just pick your handedness and speed Yea i've read this on th...

Need a brass gear set for the Met DC

Looking to fit in a brass gear set on my 2015 Metanium DC. What are the options? I know the new 2020 Met MGL has a brass set, but not sure if compatible ](*,)

Re: More new Tatula models...

Daiwa is such a mess in the baitcasters department. Ever since Shimano released the Bantam, Daiwa cannot compete. And now that Met2020 is a thing, what's the Daiwa's answer to that? Another Tatula, or two, or three. Great😭

Re: Hedgehog vs ZPI

ZPI, KTF, Kosugi Works and Hedgehog are all superior to the Made In China Abec7's from Boca or whatever other overpriced brand that resell Chinese bearings.

Re: New to BFS, Reel that excels at longer casts?

If you want to spend as little as possible, but still get excellent performance, i would suggest a pixy or an alphas 103 frame with a ray's studio bfs spool. Both of these reels can be had under $100. I love my 3 Airy Red's, but he'll be limited with line capacity at the end of a long cast with the...

Re: "older" shimano casting reels

While i prefer the older Daiwa's, i find the newer shimanos to be superior compared to older models. Smoother, lower profile and much better braking system.

Re: Tell me about older Diawa Alphas, TD and other reels

Outside of the Steez TW, i find the tdz/pixy/alphas platform to be better than everything Daiwa has been pumping since the cancerous Tatulas were introduced.
