Re: Zero adjuster

It can be used, but I have found it useless / it make things more complicated. With Zero Adjuster spool tension adjusting is not anymore that easy, just adjust tension to zero and it's ready. With Zero adjuster it needed to rotate spool and visually inspect when there is no tension.

Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020

I bought recently shallow spool to my Z2020 and it's slightly heavier (0.6 g) than deep spool. But loaded with line shallow spool is of course lighter.

Re: Zero adjuster

I change spools and there is a little of differences in length of axles. And it's pain in the ass to adjust Zero Adjusted spool.

Re: Zero adjuster

Me too. I think I'm going to remove shim plates from my Alphas. I hate adjusting Zero Adjuster. Without Zero adjuster tension is much easier to adjust as should.

Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020

Why heavier than non-shallow? In similar design (material thickness) shallow spools are heavier than deep spools, because diameter of spool bottom is bigger in shallow spool and more aluminium is needed.. And if similar strength is needed, similar thickness is needed for shallow spool than for deep...

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

Also in ct Alphas vs. ct Steez has same kind of differences in KTF spools... At least positioning/move of inductor.

Re: Zero adjuster

What actually is Zero Adjuster? In my Hedgehog's Air BFS bearings was different shim plates. I added one acc. to directions. Now it seems that my Alphas spool tension works strangely. While loosening spool tension there doesn't appear spool loose side-by side movement when tension is correctly adjus...

Re: First BFS Baits

My favorite BFS lure has been Rapala Countdown CD03 (3 cm, 4 g, sinking). It's nice to cast with BFS setup and nice to crank and it has been productice at least for rainbow trout, perch and sometimes pikes likes it also. I'm not sure how it is available from there. But at least from Ebay: https://ww...

Re: Most sought after Daiwa 34mm spool

I'ze HLC spool is nice, because it's rare :-) It's basicly same as Steez 100 spool but different colour and maybe a little different inductor. Mine was with standard Magforce-Z spring but now I have changed it to HLC Spring.

Re: Daiwa SV/magforce and casting style

I'm not a biggest fan of sv brake. But in KTF it works good in BFS weights. And standard sv 70 spool it works well in 5 g - 15 g range. In my opinion Sv brake needs to be casted gently. Power casting doesn't make more distance. Solution is not to turn mag dial to weaker, it leads to birdnest. By cha...

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

Yes Air is faster. It retrieves 75 cm per turn. ct Alphas retrieves 67 cm per turn. Because of difference in spool diameters difference in retrieve is not bigger, but still something 12%.

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

Yes, but this is new small spool and currently only one swap possibility, KTF, which obviously is slightly lighter and I think it has similar capacity than original. In my opinion current ct Alphas is pretty perfect power finesse reel :) And with KTF spool it's good finesse reel :) But still I'm thi...

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

it could be a power finesse machine I think this Alphas Air 2020 shares same spool as Steez Air and that spool is finesse-finesse, not power finesse. And if so, line capacity is 40 m / 0,10 mm. I don't know what pound rating it corresponds to, but by taking Stroft GTM 0,10 mm strength, which is 1,4...

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

Might be (including tax and customs) maybe 421 € in Finland ...Uhh. But I think I must buy. And probably also ridiculously high priced KTF spool (including shipping and tax and customs). Gear size increased...I was REALLY hoping those 8.6 gears would fit into an Alphas SV. Gears will be duraluminum ...
