I've used several of the Hedgehog series in the past for drop shot. Actually the only Megabass rods (and the GT3) that I still use. I know there was a review on one of them here on TT, and the tip broke, but I've used these rods hard and never had a tip break on me. That's what I was going to sugge...

I think Mattman gave an excellent example.
My preference is: spin rods; spine on bottom, casting rods w/ guides on top; spine on top(tip down presentations), casting rods w/ spiral guides; spine on bottom(tip up presentations).

Ye know I am used to it :) Btw I got answer on the Jota Rod I need to wait for November to get one from Japan :? Ah well alot of time to find a reel then :D Cool. 8-) I think I'm going to try the same rod in the spring. It's open water pike season here now and after that it's ICE FISHING BABY!!! :P...

A little caveman style, but take your spool out and roll it on a flat surface to see if there's any wobble, but it sounds like the frame is out of alignment to me.

I chose #3.
My buddy uses the fish eagle rods and loves them. I've used his a couple times and it's an outstanding rod for the $$$.
