Re: New Envy Black

I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a couple of prototype rods on a youtube video. Looked like the new fuji seat, which is one of a couple of things I would like different about the envy rods I have. The other being the recoils. They work just fine, so i have no problem with function, but the ...

Give me the lowdown on building handle on carbon tube

I'm wanting to try my hand at assembling rods again. I bought a hand wrapper and drying motor a few years ago, but had a lot of things happen in a short amount of time and just shelved the idea. Now life has gotten a bit more consistent again. I'm trying to figure out advantages and disadvantages of...

Re: Rod Weights

I don't have access to a scale, but I'd really like to know the weights on the One 3 Defy & Fate series. I've had the 7'9 Defy Black crank rod for a couple of months and could swear it feels lighter than the Omen 2 7'1 MH. I just got in the 7' M Chrome crank rod today, and that thing is a feathe...

Re: Handle spool interchangeable between which Lews?

I don't own any Lews reels or know if knobs are removeable, but if they you may be able to replace them with knobs off of an Abu or BPS reel.

Re: 13 Omen Black 2 H?

No experience with the H powered omens, but I will say the step up from the 6'10 M omen to 7'1 MH omen was pretty drastic. The blank is much bigger and bulkier, and the rod just generally feels clubby to me. Not my finest purchase, but I'm sure I'll figure somewhere to use it at some point.

Re: Any info on abu Garcia Revo alx?

No I fish the White River close to Batesville AR. Some of the tightest (hard) finesse fishing ever, overrun with aggressive little smallmouth, but there are some MONSTERS in there. Also monster stripers below dams, really good fishing, just takes a while to figure it out. Problem with our system is...

Doesn't sound like we're too far from each other. You ever fish Frierson? I've never fished there, but I used to pass by there a lot when I was an appraiser.

Re: Fury 705cb??

Perfect!

I'm trying to drop a rod and pick up something that will basically cover everything down to 10', and from there go to my deep crank rod. Right now I'm using a 7'2 mh steez, but it's a bit stiff for the 1.5's.

Re: Any info on abu Garcia Revo alx?

I'm just guessing, but I would think the gen4 uses basically the same frame as the new lews & bps reels. I have the carbonlite 2.0 on my plastics rod and the alx on my jig rod, and while there is a difference in size it's not a lot. I do prefer the Abu, as it has a flat front piece on top of the...

Fury 705cb??

Anyone here have this rod? I'm needing a 7' m+ cranking rod that will handle 1.5, 2.5, and pretty much anything down to 8-9'

Re: Have you guys ever had this problem with shimano reels?

Things like that only happen on the "junk" reels doesn't it??

Of course, I'm just kidding. I'm neither snob or cheapskate, I use whatever.

I came across your videos a couple of weeks ago. When I heard you mention TT, I figured you must be a member so I subscribed.

Re: Any info on abu Garcia Revo alx?

I wouldn't let the braking scare you off of these reels. I got to fish the reel this weekend and had no problems at all...other than getting rained on!

Btw, where are you located?

Re: Tasty vs assassin

Thanks for thr response. I'm not unhappy at all with the assassin, but Tatsu has still got the "best fc" hype. I may try some if I catch it on sale

Tasty vs assassin

I've been using 17# assassin and really like it, but the Tatsu is still kinda nagging at me. Guys that have used both, is there enough performance difference to justify the cost? I would be going with 20 in the Tatsu
