Re: Fuego

See if you can find some 5:1 gears to work in the Fuego. The line recovery test I did on mine is 27", way too fast for me for spinnerbaits.

Re: Sweet lookin TopWater -- TD Mouthwasher

Those new TD shallow cranks look nice also. I've been trying to find them online, but haven't had any luck.

Re: Edwin Evers (BPS PRO QUALIFIER BAITCASTER)

KVD uses Quantum reels because Quantum pays him to use their rods and reels. I'm sure his contract with his sponsors lists certain things he has to promote and nothing else because there might be a conflict of interest. I doubt KVD promotes Bass Pro's plastics and spinnerbaits because Strike King p...

Re: Stay Away from Suffix Elite Line

I had problems a few years ago with the Tritanium Plus. I broke off setting the hook a few times and it came off my pitching reels.

I've never messed with the newer Sufix line, but is it supposed to be like the Xtra Stong P-Line? The PLine seems to be pretty thick for the # rating.

Re: Bought a daiwa fuego baitcaster....now what rod do I nee

Team Daiwa S rod. I've got the 7' MH worm/jig rod with a Fuego on it, and it's the most comfortable combo I've ever had. I fish jigs, t-rigs, and Senkos with it. If you check around you can get them brand new for $100 shipped. I got a deal on a like new Fuego last week and am planning to get another...

Re: Need another reel again.....

The Fuego is a fine reel... and I'm sure the Zillion will prove out to be as well. But when you're talking TD-Z, you're talking about Daiwa's flagship low-profile baitcaster for the last 10 years or more. It's being replaced this year, finally, by the Steez in the Japanese market. Only ICAST will r...

Re: DAIWA( FUEGO or SOL) for pitching ?

Right now I'm using a Fuego and a Curado 100b to pitch with and see no problems with the Fuego. I like the high speed for pitching, it's too fast for me on blades. Both the Curado and the Fuego will pitch weightless Senkos with no problems.

Re: Snatched this photo off eBay - TD Zillion

Just seen this on Japan Tackle forum

http://www.japantackle.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=279

Looks like this is not a special run.

Snatched this photo off eBay - TD Zillion

Looks more like a special run than production. I'm not sure if it's a legit pic or not.

Re: please help me out here, what would you choose?

One word of caution, if you call Bill @ Angler's Paradise be sure to have some time to talk!! Bill is a super nice guy and is very helpful and friendly. He will try and help you out with any fishing/technique related questions that you might not be real confident with. He will also cut you a...

Re: Japan Fishing Show - expected Daiwa products

Looks pretty cool to me. It'll be interesting to see run down on it and the price.

Right now I'm diggin my Fuego, and they're more in my range than the Z's.

Re: triple fish fishing lines

T Mike, I believe we are not talking strictly Fluorocarbon lines. This topic was HiViz which is not pure Fluorocarbon and you can not get 3000yds for 35 bucks (more like $150) I fish most of the year in gin clear water, and I have not noticed any difference in number of bites when using P-Line Fluo...

Re: triple fish fishing lines

Im not sure triple fish is really all that much of a bargain. TW has the triple fish for 9.99 for 125 yard of 15lb. You can buy Pline PURE Flourocarbon in 15lb 250 yard for 16.99. Im sure if you like it then its pretty good stuff i just dont think its much of a bargain. The Pline PURE Flourocarbon ...

Re: Budget Rod for my Baitcaster

If you have a Wal-Mart anywhere near you, they should be blowing out last years stock in the next week or so. Check out the Team Daiwa V rod, I think it's probably the same as the Procaster rods. They're not the be-all end-all, but they ain't bad either. I think they normally sell for $60, so you ca...
