Re: rewrapping older rods with smaller/lighter guides?

thanks for all the replies. i am worried about changing 1 of the rods. it's a 6'9 daiwa ballistic rod that was supposed to be a mh worm/jig rod, but it's way too underpowered and has too much bend. it's more like a m+ power and actually bends deeper in the blank than most of the crankbait rods i hav...

rewrapping older rods with smaller/lighter guides?

how much would rewrapping an older rod with smaller lighter guides affect taper & possibly sensitivity? i have a few daiwa rods that i love the seats on, but i can barely get a rod sock over the guides!! i don't really want to affect the taper of the rod much though

Re: another "what's next for daiwa?" thread

i've been looking for a steez xt 7'mh for a while now unsucessfully. i've now started to think i may just have to bite the bullet and go with an ags, but they are getting a bit more rare on the bay. so i'm wondering are the steez rods maybe getting phased out? i know the xt's have been discontinued...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

i have been very lucky with the steez rods. the only one that i've had that i didnt really care for is the 7'2 mh flexlite. it's a bit tip heavy, and not as parabolic as i would like. i've had the 7' mh svf, 7'1 h harrier, 7' m flexlite, now i have the 7'1 h & 7'4 xh xt's. i would really like to fin...

i'm not generally 1 to complain about pricing, you either will spend whatever or you won't, but this seems a tad bit extreme to me.

Re: What’s a good rod for spinnerbaits?

i personally like a moderate action for spinnerbaits, and am thinking about picking up a st croix 6'10 mh s glass rod. i've been using an older 6'9 mh daiwa ballistic rod that was supposed to be a jig/worm rod, but it's way too soft & slow for that. the time that i don't like a mod action is if i'm ...

Re: St Croix Legend Glass

I bought the 6’10” MH and like it so far. I’ve only caught a couple of fish on it. I have a Revo Winch on it but have gotten spoiled to the ALX sized reel for fishing moving style baits. I’m going to order a Lews MB in 5:6.1 and try it out. I’ll change out the handle and the knobs. I’ll also give i...

Re: Steez AGS casting rods

i've had the harrier (comp x) and the steez xt in 7'1 h, although not at the same time. the newer xt balances better to me with same weight reel than the comp x did. i realize you're asking about the ags rods, but the trend to me is the newer rods have improved over the older steez. i never had a pr...

Re: Fluoro suggestions

i've been using sunline assassin in 17# for jigs & plastics, and seaguar red label 15# for spinnerbaits & cranks for the past year-year & a half. i've been really pleased with both on casters.

Re: Megabass levante

i've tried to find a 7' mh for plastics with no luck, then thought maybe another 7'1 h, but it seems like now those are getting harder to find since they're apparently discontinued. now i'm thinking maybe go with the perfect pitch in this line for jigs, and just use the steez for plastics. i am a hu...

Re: Seaguar fishing line

i use 15# red label for spinnerbaits & cranks, and have had no problems with it. i tried it for plastics & jigs, but didnt really care for it. i use 17# assassin for that and have had no issues. no experience with abrazx, but invizx didn't work out as well as i had hoped on a spinning reel. i've sin...

Re: BPS and Cabelas

im pretty happy with carbonlite 2.0 reels. not as thrilled with the 79.97 sale on them when every model was out of stock & not available for backorder though.....
