Re: Lexa 300 v. Tatula 200

Go up in price range a bit and get the Zillion HD2020, same capacity as a Z2020 or Ryoga 2020 but in a lighter frame. Alloy palming side plate and set plate instead of a zaion side plate like the Tatula. And can get it in a 5.5:1 ratio for swimbaits. its a standard magforce (fixed inductor) and work...

Stradic FL gear ratios

I have a new Stradic 2500HG FL and the gear ratio is listed as 6.0:1 , as far as I know gears should always be of a value that is not divisible by whole numbers. as with a whole number the gears will always contact the same points and create wear issues. can someone shed any light as to why the gear...

Re: Millionaire CT SV

Can you take the spacers out, change the worm shaft, and use a regular spool? Might be worth it to get one and sell those parts off to someone who wants that tiny spool... I don't believe this would be feasible as the CT reels with the spacers have also a longer pinion to reach the spool as the spo...

Re: 7.9:1 Gear

:D Do they make a 4.9:1? Those days are unfortunately over my friend... But what would I do for a 3.8:1 or 4.0:1 ratio or something along those lines into a modern day CU-K... I know you like your shimanos but If you ever wish to try daiwa I am running a set of 4.9:1 gears from a catalina 100P BJ i...

Re: Taking spooled reels on flights...

When I was FIFO from Townsville to Gold Coast I couldn't take spools or even electrical tape off site on carry on and that was 2009... Just last year from GC to NZ we couldn't take spools on carry on either. I do FIFO out of Townsville to Cloncurry, people at work often give me reels to service for...

Re: Taking spooled reels on flights...

in the last year or so it has changed in Australia, spooled reels use to be ok for carry on baggage but now no line is allowed.

Re: Is the Steez SV TW currently the best low profile bass reel on the market?

Judging sales by how many of a certain brand of reels come into a repair shop is actually not a good litmus test. If one sees a ton of all these other brands come into a shop in need of repair, then hardly ever sees a Daiwa, I would think its because Daiwa reels dont ever break or need service. My ...

Re: Steez A Gears

I am successfully running a og zillion main gear in a steez a but have to use the steez a pinion. Something we'll need to work on. I'm pulling the sleeves out of my A and see what mods the yoke may need to get the OG gears fitted. I got a tatula yoke in the bin somewhere............... pretty sure ...

Wouldn’t the morethan pe 19 8.6 bronze gears be a direct fit?
the morethan 8.6 gears are a hybrid with alluminium body and brass teeth. plus that ration is too fast for a lot of applications.

I need a brass gear for myself, I like brass because I fish mainly saltwater. Can somebody link me to the gear they used?
I fish the Steez A's in salt and have had no issues with the alloy gear, I only put a brass gear into one of mine to see if it could be done.

Re: Steez A Gears

There is no brass gear for that reel. As for upgrading the corrosion resistant ball bearings, I think you would kill the performance of that reel. Yes there is spanky, I am successfully running a og zillion main gear in a steez a but have to use the steez a pinion. Did you do that to get a certain ...
