Re: ZPI M or 1012 g1

1012 G1 - Nice. ZPI M - Very nice. In another thread w. ongoing activity, Barramaniac writes that Steez A plus ZPI M is a fantastic combination...I have the spool.... That was Strewth that wrote that, I don't have any ZPi spools but do have the Steez 1016G1 SV, Zillion 1016G! SV and 1012G1 SV SLP s...

Re: The Ryoga 1016H

This one has had a hard life, got it cheap initially as it was well and truly scratched up. had it painted and rebuilt the reels internals so like new. getting a bit knocked around now from lots of use. It has even been to the bottom of the bay in 8 metres of salt water, got ripped out of my hands o...

Re: The Steez SV TW

Sharp looking reel. I'm liking the Septon style knobs too. Time will tell if they go sticky like the shimano septon knobs. being a reel repairer I have seen plenty of the shimano knobs that have gone very sticky. especially being in the tropics where a combination of sunscreen and insect repellant ...

Re: Daiwa Ryoga Sizes? What does it all mean?

1016 uses same size spool as a 103 but body is slightly larger with much bigger gears, and takes all rcs 1000 size spools. The 2020 is the same size as a pluton, spools interchangeable , so wider and larger diameter than the 1016. The Shrapnel is same diameter as a 2020 just a lot wider similar to a...

The SS Sv and The SV light have brass pinion and alloy main gear. there is no hybrid main gear in either,

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW

What's the difference of this reel against the Steez A? What justifies the additional 100 USD in price? Thanks for the info. Brass gears. Black paint with gold accents. Some mill work on the frame and carbon fiber inlays. Steez A is kinda boring looking IMO and I have never been a fan of aluminum g...

Re: Gear replacements

replaced two gear sets on the Met2013. Those thin and ultra light alumium gears shimano uses in many reels are garbage in my opinion. This raspy noise and feel is so annoying when you're retrieving a decent resistance bait such as a spinnerbait The Met 2013 stock gears are notoriously bad for produ...

Re: 2 Piece JDM Rods

I am using 4 piece rods without issues. Non have come apart during use and with current rod design there is no flat spots and they fish like a 1 piece, I don't see the need for 1 piece as there is no real advantage to them anymore. the rods I use are Bone rods but Major Craft have plenty of 2 piece ...

Re: Anti Reverse Bearings

its mainly the sleeve that needs replacing due to corrosion or pitting, But the bearing itself also suffers the same. The antireverse bearing and sleeve are the most overlooked item when trying to find the source of vibration in a reel. people will change bearings and gear sets only to find its the ...

Re: Daiwa SLP/RCS Knobs?

Makes sense and I’m glad to hear they have the same basic shape. I’m still not a huge fan of the paddle style knobs on the Steez A or the thinner/flatter knobs on the SV TW. I think I may go with a set of the high grips for the Steez A. I’m very interested in seeing what others have done to upgrade...

Re: Daiwa Zillion SV TW

yes that is so . The zillion sv spool is less restricted than the steez Sv tw spool, the steez spool has a deeper inductor cup that protrudes further into the magnets. not as deep as a SS SV spool though. the best spool I have found for lighter stuff in the sv spools is the SLP G1 1012sv

Re: Daiwa Zillion SV TW

Does it have brass gears or aluminum?Cant seem to find any info.. yes the zillion 1016sv does have brass gears, the only let down of the reel is not having a alloy sideplate and set plate. I don't see that as a negative. That's the main reason it's over an ounce lighter than the original. It's ever...
