Re: Gloomis Classic Trout

Sorry I am of no help on the original trout series. However I will add that the 791 TSR GLX remains as one of my all time favorite sticks (I've typed plenty on it here). I used it for big smallies in our crystal clear rivers that eat peanuts well out of the spook zone. It has tamed my biggest top fi...

Re: Megabass Valkyrie Rods

Diggy good stuff my man thank you for sharing I am certainly inching ever so closer to the XXH 8-) If I were to buy one, it would be the XXH one too, especially based on where we were fishing. For the record I goofed. He has the 7'4" H+ (VKC74H+) not the 7'2" Sir I will echo Cristos' sentiments. Ma...

Re: Small but Mighty, the Deadly Megabass Dark Sleeper

I am glad I am not the only one who looses them to underwater wood, I can't figure out why they seem to snag so often. I've had zero trouble with it in and through wood though I've fished the lightest/smallest version of it for the past year for River smallmouth. It careens off a mix of VW Bug size...

Re: What’s your Finesse spinning rod?

Megabass Arms gin fizz f3-610x with a Jdm complex ci4+. I prefer bfs rods though. Does that rod seriously have real wood handle? Yup. Reel is cool doesn’t do the rod justice though. Gorgeous sir. Being a spin/smallie guy I probably just need to cut to the chase and add a couple. Thanks for ...

Re: Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs G Loomis NRX 852S JWR

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting the addermine but was curious how you guys hold your rods and reels. I hold mine right handed with the reel foot between my middle finger and ring finger. Two fingers in front. Two behind. It seems like the handle design favors more fingers in front of the reel....

Re: Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs G Loomis NRX 852S JWR

What size Senko sir ? 5" I have a F2.5 XXX Black Themis and while I know the power-levels are not super consistent across different lines, I am thinking/hoping the F3.5 Addermine should have the power needed for them. That's more of a hunk of plastic than I would throw on it sir. If cut in half and...

Re: Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs G Loomis NRX 852S JWR

.
That is good to hear, wacky rigged senkos are the main presentation I am looking to throw on it.
What size Senko sir ? I would disagree that the Addermine is not a drop shot rod. Perhaps not in the traditional sense of vertical presentations but it's pretty darn good and wouldn't ch...

Re: How to post for sale??

Just make sure they are halfway meaningful posts spread out over a reasonable amt of time. i've spread my 80 posts out over 6 years . a couple more years and i'll be there! :) I am at 88 posts in 13 years. You are way ahead of me. I've got 20 years and 1,400 posts on a smallmouth forum where I spen...

Re: What is your prefered reel for jerkbaits

If there is anything I have noticed, jerkbait gear seems to be very very different from person to person. Gear ratio? I have used and 7.3:1, 6.2:1 and 6.4:1. I much prefer a slower ratio as I am more concerned with presentation than I am with picking up slack. I use braid as a mainline so too fast ...

Re: Three 6' JDM Destroyers walk into a bar.....

Well, my dilemma has been solved! A member here PMed me about a Phase 3 Criffhanger he was selling and the price was good enough to make be jump on it. https://i.imgur.com/RzHwR57h.jpg?1 All I have done so far is about 20min of yard-fishing with it and I think this was what I was looking for. I pla...
