2014 Classic Predictions

What do you guys think about up coming Classic at Lake Guntersville?

Who is going to win?

Presentations and lure?

Especially that kinda cold winter what we have down here in the South. I think water temperature in low 40's right now.

Re: Daiwa tatula distance

Bootytrain,

Thank you for your testing!

I just want to add, if you want a distance - use a spinning reel! I can throw at least 50% further with spinning setup.
Baitcasters, IMO,shines in close and precise presentations.

Bass X looks good, plus it 2pcs rods, seldom see it in baitcasting series.

Re: Daiwa's new reels for 2014

I can't really determine from that picture, but is that a third bearing on the pinion??? Thanks for pointing! Looks like - yes. Translation of Daiwa's Speed Shaft system Free spool time, the structure separates the shaft and spool, supported by only BB spool. Because of the extra resistance...

Re: Daiwa's new reels for 2014

I'm in line for SS SV and Tatula JDM

That feature (Speed shaft) looks really promising in SS SV. I wish they would make that reel with T-Wing system.

Re: Importing JDM reels

Even if they do, it much cheaper to buy them from Japan.
Look up Shimano JDM prices here, and how much they cost in Japan.
Shipping time is about the same.
The only thing I would request, what I can use a warranty on my JDM reels here in Daiwa US service center, instead of shipping a reel to Japan.

Re: XPOD

I doubt it helps. I'm kinda lazy to retie lures all the time, this is only why I use a snap, it's just quicker.
With tying directly you shouldn't have any issues, might be even better action.

Re: Beginner Jerkbait

I didn't want to scare him with the price. They are in my opinion the best there is but probably too expensive if you don't have confidence with a jerkbait. I think this is the best way to get that confidence :) If TS fishes in clear water chances to loose it almost a zero. I use jerkbaits a lot, b...

Re: Beginner Jerkbait

If you fish for bass, I would buy a Megabass Vision OneTen jerkbait.
Proven killer for catching bass.
