Re: Standard Gears vs. Mirco

Thanks for the replies. I am limited to my limited experience with gears, and am no where close to R&D of Shimano. When I considered the listed reels I was sure one would point to the most expensive in terms of all the charateristics. I never took X-ship into consideration so thanks for pointing tha...

Standard Gears vs. Mirco

Notwithstanding gear ratio, does a set of mirco gears give you less back play and more torque ( for lack of a better word) vs. standard gear clearance? I guess what I am getting at is what advantage is there one over the other? I would think that with the micro's gear stripping would be an issue dep...

Re: THE, Jig Rod

No disrespect intended but at one time I looked at the PHX line up of rods. From what I read there was a lot of issues with the reel seat and guides. That kinda turned me away. If this K2 is produced I would be interested in the QA as well. For the Nautilus, Where can I read up on the spec of the ro...

Re: THE, Jig Rod

With the bearing down rod. From what I can find its only 6'11" Do you find the length to be adequate for jigs? just a question and No I haven not fished the steez rod. and I probably wont see it for some time. Just one more thing to look forward to when I return. I said i would not buy alot of stuff...

I am not familiar with this rod or the maker. Is this a custom manufature or
can it be purchased from TWH.com, what's the asking price?

PE Zillion

How do you modify the American zillion level wind to move fast like that of the JDM PE zillion? Also, is the drag star on the American version considered to be a sway back design? I want to get a handle that I saw on japantackle.com and I am not certain and need confirmation please. Lastly how long ...

Re: THE, Jig Rod

its the legend extreme
7'1" Mh x-fast 12-20 line 1/4-3/4 LXC71MHXF

vrs

LTB 7'3" xhvy fast 17-30 1-2 1/2 oz
those were the ones I was looking at. In todays economy I am trying to be more conservative so I may be only able to get one of the two or maybe a different rod altogether.

THE, Jig Rod

In my search for the jig rod that I like the most I have ran across some that I thought were going to be the ONE but then I would find an issue with it. I have come to realize that the combination of rod and reel not only makes the set up but it can hinder one as well. I think that they are both equ...

Reel Fast

Just like the Fast and the Furious, our obsession for speed in fishing seems to be one sequel after another. Before I left I brought me a set of gears for my zillion that was 7.3:1 I wanted the 7.9:1. I wont be home for six months so that will have to do. My question to you is how fast do you really...

Re: Pitching Reel

Why not get a reel with the torque you require and get a shallow spool?
