Re: Megabass rods

I have quite few MB rods and only had one break. It was a new Levante EMTF that broke the first time out. The warranty replacement is fine. I guess this is the version that they had a quality escape on and announced to get it fixed. If a rod does not break very early in its life cycle, then it is us...

Re: Xmas Braillist

A little necromancy on this thread and rod. If you are looking for a 5' weightless senko rod, this should be at the top of the list. It is very reminiscent of my XMG50 7'2" LMB864. That Lami was magic with a 5" weightless senko, and the Braillist is making me smile the same way.

Erie smallie party

I went out with Jared Rhode and my buddy Rick. We braved some less than ideal weather today and were rewarded with some beautiful smallies. Several over 5 lbs today. Rick got his personal best. =D> A grand day!! Thanks for looking. https://i.imgur.com/kaDAyFv.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Ztr3lmM.jpg http...

Re: Inshore trip

Thanks guys.

Those bonefish are extra spooky. Anyone use a baitcaster for them? I so dislike the eggbeaters, but they seem to be the ticket for that species given the finesse and line capacity required. :?

Inshore trip

Took a day off after work meetings for some inshore fishing. It is a treat for a guy from Ohio. Went out with Capt. Carl Ball and got my first bonefish. Had some hits from tarpon but couldn't seal the deal. Enjoy and thanks for looking. https://i.imgur.com/TkszuLs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Ik5eyhw.jpg...

Re: TD Fuego Spools

A little late to the party, but I run an HLC spool currently. It is on a XX Braillist and does wonderful pitching and casting. Is there more than one HLC spool? Yup, there are two. One with dimples that is stock with the OG HLC reel and the I'ze Factory spool that is drilled. And they perform diffe...

Re: Megabass Python Rods

I have a WP slant bridge and the WP 2. While legendary for mag topwater and swimbaits, they also excel at big spinnerbaits, cranks of all depths (one of my faves for a 3/4oz squarebill), swim jigs and chatterbaits. If it moves horizontally and is 1/2 oz or over, a WP will work.

Re: must have megabass rods?

I love the Valdivia! It bombs frogs and the tip is very soft letting the fish get the bait before applying backbone. I also use it for jigs when braid is required. It is the only bass setup I run with braid. If it had FC on it, it would be a nice all purpose single hook stick. It pairs nicely with t...
