Re: Levante combo - kind of like these

The thread wraps are indeed purple. The metal winding check above the foregrip is...well...depends on the lighting. Hard to describe as it changes color. Quite attractive tho. :big grin:

Levante combo - kind of like these

The reel arrived to complete my first Levante combo - an EMTF with an SS SV 103. Build and design on the Levante is legit Megabass. The balance point is just above where the foregrip wrap ends. Re: Looking for some ideas on organizing terminal tackle

The Bass Mafia terminal coffins suck. Like terrible suck. I do use their 3700 bait coffin for terminal tackle and it works very well.

Re: Post purple

Matching rod and reel colors is one thing, but matching your bedsheets to your tackle is going a bit far imho. It launches a two nail "Chikubi" rigged 3.8 FAT, which weighs 10g on an Owner Twistlock Light 3/0, a looong way without a hint of backlash. That's my go to bait, so I cannot wait to give i...

Daiwa Coastal

Any one have experience with this reel? Considering it for my annual tarpon/inshore trip. I am tired of using the guide's gear and I am not sure I want to bring my Z2020 into salt. I would probably run #30 braid on it.

The Abu is a decent trade-off between grease (retains dirt too easily) and a light oil (not enough protection) for levelwind use.
