Re: Concept Z initial impressions. Did I expect too much?
Been fishing this reel off an on for the last few months....figured I'd update since I really added anything in a bit. It's not a bad reel.. Right weight. handles up close work well. And works well for all medium to medium heavy applications that don't need tons of distance. Being that they market i...

Re: 2018 stella
I was excited to see how much they cored out of the rotor to reduce it's weight! Didn't think they could improve the feel of the fi..but they did

Re: Daiwa Tatula Lt
Throwing 1/4 hardware and small bobber/fly. Done with Stradics- Have a larger Ballistic that is nice but wanting to try the Tatula if I hear enough good reviews, If you like how the ballistic works...you'll like the feel of the tatula better....The seals of the ballistic do add a bit of resistance....

Re: Daiwa Tatula Lt
Anyone using the new Lt for light weight gear? Time for a new trout reel and thinking about 1000. I have a tatula 2000 on a 5' loomis ultralight imx It's lighter than a 1000 ultegra The 1000 looks to havea smaller spool and possibly a little smaller rotor. At 6 ounces i'd go 2k and it'll manage lin...

Re: Do Expride rods have a high rate of breakage?
I always found that if there are breakage issues. They are discussed heavily. St Croix had issues with real seats and near joint failures on their legen surf rods..and with such a small community using 400-500 surf rods. To hear it as common as it was...was very interesting. Also keep in mind those ...

Re: Curado K gears
I swapped the gears in a met dc the other day................ What a difference brass makes....I'm a bit late to hating alu in shimano reels....but man...it's like a bantam or antares now. WHich is funny that daiwa steez alu gears are antares level....yet micro module is meh..... Best 50$ i ever spe...

Re: Long spinning rod help for swim baits
I went with a 9 foot tailwalk high tide tz for a wide range of offerings... I can throw 6" savage gear line throughs and pretty much anything up to that. One thing that is worth noting that Reason mentioned. Small trebles. They have power to pull hard but it develops 3 feet down the blank. So pushin...

Re: New Daiwa?
an Lt label baitcaster.....interesting. The composite used in the fuego is pretty good. like old ci4 non plus. pretty cool alternative if one wants to shave weight of the fuego. 9 bearings...figure 4 in the knobs...1 at the handle base......2 on the spool...2 on the pinion???? That could mean a floa...

Re: Braid That Keeps Its Color
Only one i've found is fins 40g because it's inside Color isn't absorbed into braid....it's a coating ANd it really doesn't make much difference. In 20 years of only using braid as a main line. I never thought to myself...damn I didn't catch today...I need to change braid colors or freshen up. you'r...

Re: Shimano's newer braking
I dig em. The old school centrifugal brakes using the large brake blocks. Come in real harsh very early. Where as the new one's come in less aggressively and fade off nicely at the midpoint It's all personal preference i guess. I didn't like the last red brake setup and prefered a mix of red and whi...

Re: Braid on a Tatula SV TW
Going to run braid on an SV for the first time. Not a braid fan, bit it is going on a frog combo. Do the SV spools need a mono backing with braid? TIA. Only reason I'd add backing is to prevent slip. Or reduce the amount of pricey braid. Usually i just tie an arbor knot and add about 7/8 of a wrap ...

Re: LT versus Ci4+FB
I'm not sure if it isn't because of being broken in yet or what, but the Daiwa LT series seemed to have a "different" feel than the Ci4+FB, the one I have has that air feeling, our Revo's have the smooth but gear feeling, and the in store Daiwa's had an air/connected gear feel. I know after the ole...

What?! I don't understand all your hatred and poison spewing nonsense. Other "resource" site moderators are better fishermen than anyone on this site and only fish gear they truly believe in. I read all the time how their reels are put to the test and are solid reels for the money. They chime in on...
