I don't want to deter anyone from buying one. It's still a good rod. I still like the rod a lot. Doesn't affect performance - more of a cosmetic thing but it freaked me out at first. Now that it's all peeled off, it looks fine.

I used mine primarily for 3/8 oz jigs with trailer and weightless plastics and tubes. It transitions really fast into the backbone so I don't really have any issues ripping my baits from weeds. I have no problems flipping 3 lbs bass into the boat, but anything bigger than that, I'd wouldn't recommend.
