Re: Citica G ticking during retrieve
Yes both the Citica and Curado have the drag clicker. It is a TINY spring and post that sits inside the face of the drag star. Be careful they like to go flying and are TINY you would have a hard time finding them if they went airborne.

Re: Curado G My Opinion
I have had no problems out of mine, and have recently torn it down and cleaned it as well, mainly because I wanted to see what all the negative fuss was about. Same build quality and same quality materials IMO. Actually better, because you get an aluminum drive shaft and aluminum worm gear, which is...

Re: Cleaning/Tuning Spinning Reels
One thing that I have noticed with spinning reels too, is that if you completely disassemble the reel, and do not reinstall the gears identically (tooth for tooth) the reel will never have the same smoothness. I have thought about this some and I think it is because the gears in a spinning reel stay...

Look what I got to clean today
I got this TDZ in from a local guy to clean today. You think it's been used much? As rough as it looks, it is very smooth. I resized the pictures to 400x300, but they are still huge. If anyone can help that would be great. http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd350/swvahoney/SW%20Pistol/DSCN2715_zps36...

Lews and Daiwa handle nut plates interchangeable?
Can anyone confirm that Lews and Daiwa handle nut plates are interchangeable? The Abu RVO3 plates have a longer space between the nut and screw than the Lews. I am speaking of the carbon handle Tournament Pro's specifically.

Re: Lews Durability
I am a long-time Shimano user, and I work on and clean a lot of reels for local anglers, so I see the insides of a LOT of reels. IMO the OEM Korean reels, such as Abu Garcia, Lews, Pflueger, Bass Pro reels, etc. have come a LONG ways in the last 5 years or so. I believe their overall build quality a...

Re: Baitcasting or spinning reel??
Now that I fish Drop-shot about 95% of the time, I also fish spinning 95% of the time.

Re: Favorite Fish attractant
Carolina Lunker Sauce. Crawlic or Crawfish the fish don't seem to care. It is much thicker than other scents I have used and stays on the bait much longer. I like the foam applicator pad too, there is virtually no waste, I can use the same bottle for about a year.

Re: Trouble Staying hooked up on Hollow Body Frogs!
Bend the hooks out slightly too. Google Dean rojas and bronzeye frog and I think you can find a video of him doing this. It will give you a wider gap and more bite.

Re: Your favorite technique for bronzebacks?
I fish smallies on small, deep, clear lakes around here, and for the last 3 years, I have fished a drop shot almost exclusively. I simply cannot stop fishing it, it is too productive. I literally only take Roboworms, drop shot hooks, and 1/8 and 1/4 ounce cylinder weights that I pour myself to the l...

Re: Drop Shotting
I just think spinning is so much easier for drop shotting, especially in deep water. I typically fish 20+ feet of water, and once the rig hits the water, I can just leave the bail open and let it fall straight to the bottom. Much easier for me than peeling off 20+ feet of line from the baitcaster af...

Re: Bucktail Jigs
I have been tying my own as well. I bought the Walleye Jig mold for this, it is a wedge shape with sockets for eyes (I like eyes on the shad color ones). Will post some pics when I get a chance.

Re: Line Twists
I fish Fluoro, specifically InvisX, and a drop shot for 95% of my fishing. I have found one of the easiest and helpful things to reduce twist is to simply close the bail by hand. I have so much more control, and can feel if a loop jumps in. Once you get used to it, it takes no longer than reeling th...
