Re: Powell 704CB or 706CB ?
They have short handles.....too short for me crankbaits wise, but the handle length makes working jerkbaits and topwaters easy. The 706 was a nice rod but i bought it sight unseen and sold it quickly, it just wasnt what i was looking for

I've noticed that too.Midnightrun1 wrote:I SWEAR that you find some of the coolest stuff on the net for fishing!

Hell, I like the handle. In the fist picture, I thought the two black carbon fiber pieces were springs or something. Anyways, cool stuff as usual GH .

Re: Bantam Curado vs. New Citica?
Even though I dont have the "big money", nor do I fish for it, I tend to grad my old Curados and Chronarchs as much or more than I do my new Chronarchs and even Calais'. They are so comfortable to me and I love to fish with them. Maybe they feel the same way.....

Re: Shimano Reels - Core & Chronarch Mg
Ch50MG doesnt have 11 pounds of drag pressure, the Core might, I dont know. Pounds of drag pressure isnt what I was getting at, I was mainly talking about the ChMg because it is SO far from a SB reel. I have never used a Core on the water, and from what I saw in the stores, it is not a swimbait reel...

Re: Ultimate Tuner Reel
Hmmn, all Daiwa so far. Anyone modding Shimano reels? Haha, b/c Daiwas need all the mods they can get to be worth a dang!! J/K, kinda....you can mod Shimano Scorpions, Curados, Chronarchs, Calais, whatever. All reels respond well to mods, but to see a big performance difference it just depends on h...

Re: My first JDM...
I like the Bassart. I like the contrast of the black handles, especially on silver reels. I have a Bassart 90 mm on my 100DC and on my Calais 100A. I havent personally seen a ZPI handle so I cant honestly comment on them, but I do prefer the black over the Platinum either way.....Platinum looks a li...

Re: Shimano Reels - Core & Chronarch Mg
The ChMG isnt even an option for throwing swimbaits in my book, neither is the Core. I would look in the Citica-Curado or the Cardiff-Calcutta lines of reels. They have more line capacity and are tougher reels (stronger drag, stronger frames, etc) that could hold up to the rigors I would associate w...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .
As far as Shad Raps go, they are my number one winter/early spring lures. I'm not a fan of the Glass Raps or the RS Shad Raps, I use the original balsa Raps exclusively. Usually I throw a #5 SS on 6 or 8lb test. But, I agree with Cal and Puma, they suck about as much as the Speed Traps......

Re: Bantam Curado vs. New Citica?
I like the older Curados better than the new Citica 200s. Even though on paper the Citica looks better, I still get better performance from the Cu200Bs. I'm always in the market for green Curados.

Re: Scorpion or Chronarch
I'd buy the Chronarch, but thats me. I dont care about the "JDM cool factor", and prefer longer handles, especially if you plan on using it for bottom baits. Im sure either of them would suit you equally well

Your Favorite Deep Diver Rod
What rods do you deep crankers prefer.... I am thinking about a Dobyn's but don't really want to pull the trigger on one yet. I don't need the rod to work for anything other than DD22's, DT16's, Mann's 30+, etc....I was looking at 7'6'' rods like the Quantum Paul Elias rod or something similar. I wi...
