Quantum EXO rods, WTD?
One of my local tackle stores has these EXO rods. Upon checking them out they honestly kinda sucked IMO. I looked over 8 sticks very closely. The labels and graphics looked like worn stickers and were crooked. The guides looked cheap, poorly placed, and the epoxy was cracked. I think it was one of t...

Re: Beginner needs help with braid on baitcaster
I would try 15 pound test Power Pro super slick, or 20 pound Sufix performance braid. Both lines should be easy to manage on your baitcaster, and suitable for most light to moderate cover. I would also suggest a fluoro leader of the same diameter.

Re: quantum bad rep?
IMHO Quantum has serious quality control issues. I also have been burned too many times. I have fished the EXO and smoke as my buddy is a Quantum fan. The brake adjustment on the EXO was rough, would barely turn, felt cheap, and was hard to dial. The brake dial on the smoke did not click and was als...

Re: KVD Square bills
Thats some funny s@#t! I actually really like the Xcalibur XCS square bill. Nice little bait. Good color selection, TX3 hooks, and Edwin uses them so they MUST be fantastic!!Heronimo wrote:Wait? Re: Okuma Citrix rods
Never fished one, but played with them quite a bit at my local shop. If you like the Abu Veritas you will like these. Very similar in feel with just a bit softer tip, not quite as stiff but close. Not my taste. They look good and seem to be quality.

Re: Question on Kistler magnesium rods.
Don't let the above comments deter you. You will not find a better stick for 85 bones. I purchased a mag and a argon from Simmons, both for under 90 bucks. I really like them. No idea what kind of blank they use, however I am satisfied. Kinda makes me wonder now. Both 09 models I believe. Maybe rain...

Re: Daiwa Laguna
Disregard this post. I just picked up a Daiwa Advantage Super Tuned for 110.00 bucks (includes shipping) on EBay. What a smoking deal. Have always wanted one but did not want to spend the 180 dollar retail.

Re: Fireline
I use to use Fireline and thought it was great. That is until I found braid. 8 pound test and under is okay at best on a spinning reel. On a baitcaster it becomes a nightmare and digs. The other problem is that it frays really bad. I started using Sufix Performance braid and won't look back. Awesome...

Re: Quantum EXO pti spin vs Pflueger Patriarch XT.
I would take the Pflueger hands down. I have been burned with Quantums too many times in the past. I think the Pflueger looks nicer, the handle on the smoke and EXO look terrible. My Patriarch is my 2nd favorite spinning reel, right behind the Daiwa Fuego, on sale at Tacklewarehouse right now! I don...

Re: MH all purpose rod, Just 1, 150 or less
My personal favorite is either a Falcon Cara T7 5-1-68 or 6-1-610. The 6'8" Angler of the Year is the single most versatile rod I have ever fished with. Period. I worm, crank, spinnerbait, topwater, finesse jig, pitch and more with this rod. I have used 8lb mono and 50lb braid on it. It will handle...

Re: Help, Sniper or Tatsu
Yes I agree, larger spools work better for fluoro. I will be using a Pflueger supreme size 30 that has a fairly large spool compared to other reels. I do believe that reel magic does help condition the line and make it a bit more user friendly, even with fluoro.

Molix The Lover
I watched a video on Tacklewarehouse from Icast with Mike Iaconelli about these new baits from Molix a while back. I really, really want to try these out. Does anyone know when they will be available? Kinda like a cross between a chatterbait and a crankbait. Looks sweet. Looks different.

Re: MH all purpose rod, Just 1, 150 or less
I think the purple endurance rod looks pretty sweet myself. Should look reel nice with a black reel...or maybe white?
