Re: New shimano crucial info
Full handle or split handle? That is the question.

Re: Are there going to be new Crucial rods?
I had a 6'8" cork crucial drop shot spinning and it was an awesome rod. Until I tried lift a fish over some vegetation. It snapped and I upgraded to a black Cumara with the trade-in. I actually liked the Crucial dropshot better than the Cumara that replaced it. I also had a cork TC4 Crucial crankbai...

Are there going to be new Crucial rods?
I hope so. Hoping for cork and a better overall design. I like the first generation Crucials more than the current offerings.

Re: New 13 Rods
Straight from the horse's mouth: " These shots are from a recent product testing trip in Northern MN. If anyone is looking to catch smallies in the 18"-21"+ category, get your drive on and make the trip. Mille Lacs is absolutely on fire. Thanks, Jim" What better way to test new tackle than to hook ...

Re: New 13 Rods
The butt section of the casting model definitely screams Poison Adrena.

Re: Expride and Poison Adrena - 1610M
I've been using the 6'10" Expride for shakyheads, small jigs, and squarebills. It really is a good all around type of action. It could be a little slower for cranks or a little faster for jigs, but handled both well enough. I'm almost thinking about using it exclusively for shakeyheads and light ji...

Re: Expride and Poison Adrena - 1610M
The PA is a little too fast for my likes. The blank recovers too fast. Yes. I definitely noticed that the PA 1610M was a little faster than the EX version. That's probably why I was more drawn to the PA. The PA also felt slightly lighter in hand. But either way, both rods feel pretty nice and crisp.

Expride and Poison Adrena - 1610M
It looks like Shimano's website has the EX1610M and PA1610M rods listed as crankbait rods, or at least the PA1610M is. I assume the Expride is the same? These rods are listed as medium-fast action rods but to me, they do not feel nearly as whippy as a Cumara medium-fast action rod. They actually fee...

Re: curado 200e5 - upgrade bearings?
Please post instructions on how to properly clean Shimano shielded spool bearings. I would like to know how to get all the grease out from inside the shielded bearings and how to oil them once they've been cleaned. I've seen people using different solutions, techniques, etc. I want to know what "THE...

That doesn't make sense. So you kept the reels that you felt were below the Core 50?fishingandfords wrote:Owned them all and feel they all cast the same. Felt the core 50 was the best but didn't like it enough to keep.

Re: Chronarch 151 Ci4+ -vs- Core 51Mg7
Is this factual information, or just rumors?? While I have not fished the newest CH, I can't see it being any better or outperforming a 50 size Core. There is a huge portion of the market using 15, 17 and 20 pound line. The small reels will not hold enough line. We have tried to push the braided li...

Chronarch 151 Ci4+ -vs- Core 51Mg7
So I've heard the rumblings about how Shimano is not planning to release any new 50 size reels this year. With baits 3/16 oz and under, which reel will be a better caster stock with no upgrades? Chronarch 151 Ci4+ or Core 51Mg7?

Shimano Expride for shakeyheads
Of the current Expride models offered by Shimano in the U.S., which one makes the best shakeyhead rod? I'm thinking... none. Might I have to look towards the Expride BFS series from Japan?

Re: Why ACS on new IMX?
Initially, I too did not like the ACS reel seat. But after using it a few seasons, it's grown on me and I now prefer it over the ECS. Especially when using jigs or crankbaits where some resistence occurs.
