Cheap yes; but not necessarily best for a beginner. Centrifugal breaks which can be finicky on those reels. The upside of course is that once you learn on that 13 reel, every other bait caster is then easy to use.

Re: Evergreen International Dire Wolf Wild 7
Looks like there is a big a$$ version of the dire wolf also.

I brought up them up side by side on the same screen and then the 18 and 22 exists look surprisingly different. Like the ‘18 much better actually. Stellas on the o...

Re: Destination Advice
OH Ivie in Texas 😀😀 Like two 15+ pound share lunkers caught out of there and then posted all over instagram in the past couple weeks it seems. Seems like the ‘smaller’ Texas reservoirs that are not typical players with the tournament circuits are all the rage right now to catch a monster. Kind of wh...

Re: $730 Usdm daiwa ct sv tw 70
Gotcha - what’s your take on the reel? Better than metanium / zillion? Similar? It’s a fantastic reel. I thought it was too small initially for my liking. I’ve got big hands and I got the Japanese version. I put on a longer handle from a morethan and it’s been great. Another good reason to get the ...

Re: $730 Usdm daiwa ct sv tw 70
I have this reel. I had to send it in for a repair last week coincidentally and I’m frankly not sure what’s up with it. Anyway, Ive enjoyed the reel. I primarily bass fish in FL, but take an inshore trip a couple times a year. For my purposes, this would be the last reel I’d think of for inshore. It...

Re: Zillion TW G Questions
Used mine for the whole season, no tick. Curious if somebody did get it, tho. Have not heard anyone complain about it on a Zillion as of yet. I don't believe the bearing had anything to do with the casting distance (unless you put some high viscocity oil in them). Bearings inside the steez are as g...

Re: That feeling …
… you know the one I’m talking about. When your rod loads up with a quality fish on a moving bait. The fight is on, open water away from cover, drag functioning well, everything going to plan … Then …. Nothing. Unbuttoned. Poof. Gone like a fart in the wind. Not a breakoff, hooks were sharp, leader...

Re: now that it's getting hot, where do the big bass go?
I think the person above may have nailed it. Sure, by random events or by man made intervention, ponds can hold giant fish, but that’s not the rule. There simply might not be a large cohort of larger sized fish in the ponds you’re fishing. I fish in Florida. This year is not setting up as well as I’...

Re: TackleWarehouse leaked my Credit Card
Huh; happened to me also right around the same timeframe. Thought it might have been a different tackle retailer I had just bought from, but there could have been a TW purchase also in there somewhere. I guess it’s that time of the year too. No biggie though; spent some time on hold with a bank age...

Re: Graduation
I have sat here long enough gunshy but I was in a pickle. I saw rods I wanted but they were priced for todays market which is high.. When i did the math I could have a new JDM rod and I am glad I did.. I ordered the poison glorious medium and it came in a tube. I stood on the tube and it was not fl...

Re: JDM Jig rods
Yes I do have some suggestions. Jig rods more sensitive than 893C NRX? Sensitivity is subjective but here are a few that I have that in my opinion are more sensitive. BTW I still have an NRX893C but these JDM options are excellent if you want to shell out the BIG BUCKS: 1). Daiwa Steez Racing Desig...

Re: Flourocarbon on Spinning reel
What flourocarbon do you guys run in your spinning reels? I’ve never like braid and want to run straight flouro, I have Daiwa luvias airity and spooled up 8lb tatsu and got terrible memory knots even after applying line conditioner the night before and the morning of fishing. I pulled off the knott...
