Old Kistler crankbait composite
Anyone know who supplied the blanks for these rods. I think there was only two composite models. They are the grey blanks with the red trim like the old graphite plus sticks

Re: Daiwa / Shimano spinning reels question
Thats nice to know. Thanks for the info. Just picked up a stradic fj 4000 for some light soft plastic work in shore. Very nice reel. Feels much more refined than the older stradics. Like churning warm butter smooth. CI4 with septum knobs. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8233/8425140511_4d59cc8a29_n.j...

Re: Silly question?
I don't believe graphite rods will take a set. Glass rods can. That's probably where the "don't store them bent" warning came from. It just keeps getting repeated because it used to be true. Yeah that makes sense because I have seen this warp happen but that was way back. My unfinished basement cei...

Re: Silly question?
Nope. Not bent, just at an angle so the middle section of the rod rests inside the little notch cut out in the rack. I'm just wondering if having contant pressure against that small portion of the middle of the blank could potentially cause any deformation or unwanted stress

Silly question?
Is it bad to store your rods on the rack at an angle? The reason I ask is because my ceiling is only 6'8, and I have to put my rods with the butt toward the center of the rack, and the tips to the left or right.

Yes I saw that. The medium looks like it would make a great rip bait rodStarTzar wrote:Have you looked at the new Dobyns lineup?
They have a 634C and a 635C and I'm thinking that the 635 might fit your needs.

Re: Help, short suare bill rod
This is a cheap rod but it is exactly what you need, Fenwick HMX 6'6" MH-MF, it will handle the smaller square bills but has enough power for the larger baits. It has a reel seat that looks and feels a lot like a Fuji ECS so there isn't a 2 piece skeleton reel seat to contend with and it is a moder...

Re: Which Cumara reaction do I need
I have the gen1 7'6"ML MF I use it to 1/2oz cranks & lipless. Im mostly in open water with weeds. The tip flex is nice which I like for use with braid but I have switched to fluoro so getting a bit more stretch now not any better but different. With all the great talk of the cumara I dont think the...
