Don't the JDM Scorpion DC's run the iDC-5. Over the poxy DC-4 found in the Curado and SLX?

All of those listed run iDC5, if I buy an slx it'll be the jdm xt version the us version does have dc-4.

2021 Scorpion DC

SLX DC XT

I've heard some bad experiences with aluminum gears but I have to say my steez A has been most impressive.

For handle bearings I usually just get stainless bearings from TRB RC, they even have cheap ceramics that actually are pretty decent for the money.
