Just a wild guess but I'm guessing shimano heard the (probably unexpected) outrage from chronarch fans and will go back to the way things were. Atleast I hope so
Just got a d7 myself for light cranks, my first shimano baitcaster. I'm really liking it so far.

Re: Gan Craft / Zenith Z-claw
The topwater bug is a bad one :D Check out the luckycraft balsa Sammy- its one of the best usdm topwater baits out there imo. The only downside is the paint will come off after a few good fish. $24. A little pricey for some but I gladly pay it, and on top of that will go so far as to have an additio...

One might even say the logo looks like a bad tribal armband tattoo
Word on the street is the 2012 model will look like an Affliction t-shirt, complete with glitter & splatterpaint.
Sorry, I'll stop.

I agree, I think that steez logo is about as ugly as it gets, looks like something you'd see in professional wresting

Gets my vote for best looking reel, ever(edit: with exception to daiwa pt33c ). And matched to a Powell Endurance rod...
I must have it.
Thoughts? Anyone else in aww of this little black & purple machine or planning on getting one?

Japantackle.com has some rcs cork knobs in stock, they appear to be slightly I style. Never seen round cork knobs before.

Re: Daiwa reel for cranks/swimbaits
Think you got the right idea with the 6.3:1 gear ratio. Fast enough for jerkbaits and not to fast for deep diving cranks. I know you said you want a Daiwa, but the Abu winch seems to fit the bill perfectly for your applications. 5:4.1 gear ratio, high line capacity & one hell of a drag. I've never o...

Re: rod for 3/8oz flat-sided cranks
Thanks for the feedback guys, the Dobyns 704cb seems like a winner for this application but I'm still keen on that Powell endurance 724cb. I gotta little time to make up my mind still. BTD is about 30min away, i'm gonna see if they have the rods in stock to get a hand on assessment, hopefully they'l...

Re: Decoy Hydra vs Hudd
I'll give my thoughts on the Decoy as there's plenty of info on the Hudd already out there. Imo, forget using it to imitate trout and go for the shad color schemes. It's deadly at imitating 'a casual, just swimming along minding my own business' shad. it's so realistic in its movement on a medium pa...

Re: A little info on the upcoming Lew's BB1
It's reall about giving slack to the bait with the reel vs the rod. I prefer the reel as for me it's faster, easier & and more controlled.

Re: A little info on the upcoming Lew's BB1
Slack line is slack line, bent rod or not. Once given a bit of slack, the rods(more like the tip)isn't bent anymore. Or as bent. Like I said, its really subtle and we're only talking about 1/2 inch of line or so. But it's easy to imagine or visualize a lure's freedom of movement on slack vs taught l...

Re: A little info on the upcoming Lew's BB1
David fritts aint the only one who feels that way. There's alot of ol' timers down in Ga, Al, Tenn and the Carolinas who wouldn't be caught dead cranking with anything other than a Lew's/ Browning BB1 or something similar. And them ol' boys know a thing or 2 about cranks...
