Re: NRX Inshore Rod Question.
I think they would sell more than one of your green rods and I will guarantee they will sell more than one Stella 500. It all comes down to numbers and the bigger numbers always win.

Re: NRX Inshore Rod Question.
Gee, do you think a demand of one will get a reel built that I want, a 500 size Stella?

Sorry but I laughed. Come on, that's funny. I do applaud your thinking outside the box and imagination, way outside the box.

Best fluorocarbon currently available. As always, good knots are a must.

Re: Anyone heard/handled new MHX blanks?
Normally I wouldn't do this but when you use a public forum to promote your products, the door is open. First, you use the term "nano resin". Please give us your understanding of what it is and why it is an advantage in blank manufacturing? Next, I will assume you will provide an adequate answer, so...

What a shame. A female like that would have made lots of BIG babies.

Re: Shimano stradic ci4 bearing question
No idea, you would need to discuss that with him.
Very generous to provide a set that works without charging you.
A bit of speculation, he might have believed that your account of the reel only being in the water for a "good half hour at the least." was a bit of an understatement.

Re: 832 breaking strength
I will second the suggestion that tying knots with braid requires practice. Using high quality mono also makes the connection better, having something slightly softer for the braid to bite makes knots hold more securely. While I would love an 8 carrier braid in light lines, we are not there, yet. Mo...

Re: Maximizing distance with tiny jigs
Most ultralight blanks do not "lock up" as you describe, far beyond the design parameters. Some blanks get into the butt section sooner but this is more about taper and wall thickness. There are some Phenix Iron Feather blanks that have very light tips and get into the butt section quickly. Certainl...

Re: UL only?
4 pound test is much stronger than most think and I don't mean braid labeled as 4 pound test but breaks at 8. Test, with the line through the guides of your rod, attach the line to something solid, back off 20 feet and put a bend in your rod and break your 4 pound test. I lose big fish on occasion w...

Re: Best Rod Guide Choice For Braid & Fused Superlines?
Most guys couldn't tell the difference between a felt drag washer and a carbontex, an ABEC 2 bearing from an ABEC 9. Shall I go on?
We do it because we can.

Doesn't everyone? Actually, I don't think I have ever built a rod with alconites.

Re: Best Rod Guide Choice For Braid & Fused Superlines?
While SICs are incredibly hard, probably overkill, the smoothness of the surface then gets called into question.
Hence, Fuji's newest product line, called Torzite. These are not quite as hard but much smoother surface finish, again, probably overkill but isn't that what we do?
