Re: Curado 70 // Tatula SV shootout??
I would be cool if daiwa would bring a reel to the table that's as light as the 70 in that price range (about $160 on the the big auction site). Alphas/SV105, sadly it is leaving, I could see them have some PIXY TWS variant on the way. I know it doesn't make sense because their larger SV reels cast...

Re: Problems w/ Zillion SV TW
Zillion SV is an awesome reel , honestly it is one of my all time favorites . Casts amazing with upgraded spool bearings and the drag is strong and very smooth. I have mine with a 95mm Cf handle , black smooth I shaped knobs and exterior parts in hedgehog royal purple . It's a beauty and for $200 I...

Re: Need a frogging only reel...
Shimano advertises that reel as being a flipping and pitching reel and one that will cast lighter baits.Obz wrote:I would do the high speed tws. The curado 70 is a finesse reel.
Not the best reel for the job but , it will work. imo the better of the two he mentioned for frogs.

Re: Need a frogging only reel...
I'm also in the market for a frog reel. Do you need an aluminum frame for frogging, or would a composite frame reel like the Chronarch MGL in higher gear ratio would be okay for frogging? I'm looking for a lighter reel, so it'll be easier to walk the frog, so I was looking at Chronarch and the Cura...

I was looking at their website the other day for the same reason...I couldn't find where frame and side plate materials were mentioned on any of the low profile baitcasters.

Re: Chap stick on your line for Knots.
I do in saltwater , because the line is much thicker. No need for it bass fishing imo. You really don't want to cinch down your knots like a gorilla anyways.

Re: Okuma spinning reels?
I'd be curious to see that. I could also see how the red Inspira could look like the Stradic ci4 from a distance. Not saying you're wrong, I just haven't seen the picture. Find the April issue of bassmaster "parting shot" section...plain as day , no mistaken it. It's not the first time , I've seen ...

Re: Okuma spinning reels?
If you look at last months bassmaster magazine towards the back . there is a photo of Jacob Wheeler , who is sponsored by Okuma...He has a deck full of Stradic Ci4's on the boat , if that tells you anything. I'm not saying they won't work ,I'm just thinking that if you're fishing for money , you mig...
