Re: New Bass Fishing Teams/Sponsors/Contracts

Most tour pros get very little, other than product, out of their rod/reel and bait contracts and most pros realize that they are better off fishing what they like best. Aaron is a guy that will fish whatever he thinks it will take to win and probably isn't really worried about his sponsors as much a...

Matagi Foregrip Parts

Foregrip Pieces.jpg My rod builder has a couple of my projects on hold while I have been waiting for my foregrip components from Matagi. I've always liked the Dobyn's Extreme KDPS foregrips, just without the orange. The parts arrived today and I snapped a marginal picture with my phone in the drive...

Re: Share your basics for trophy bass fishing.

Many good points here! If I could be given the perfect opportunity each time I chose to 'wet a line', it would be when the barometer was low just before stormy weather. Something magical happens in that brief moment of opportunity - seems like the lake just comes alive. I'm getting pretty excited j...

Re: Dobyns Champion vs G Loomis Mossyback?

I've still got one of the first Mossyback 874's(7'3" heavy) and it is a solid blank. It has caught lots of big fresh and saltwater fish, but I don't like the Aftco guides for braid because it is more likely to catch on them. I sold the only Dobyn's Champion that I had, which was a 764(7'6"heavy). It...

lol. you are not willing to use an proven old school reel with drag that put many modern reel to shame and yet you want to put your money on something new and shinny? Don't worry, the other kid won't laugh at you, especially after you use ugly Betty to beat their sorry a$$. Re: MHX High-Mod Gen 2

Cool The 812 is going to be my next blank I want it for throwing pointer 100 and rc sticks up in canada for smallies I'm glad you guys like the blank it makes me stoked. I said on another thread that I think the Gen 1 812 has better than average sensitivity. It is the only build that I have with a ...

Re: JDM Certate 2510 PE-H Locomotive Level Wind

Call me ignorant, but isn't advance locomotive level wind just an s shape cam? pretty much standard in all daiwa models? http://www.daiwa.com/reel/pop_all.aspx You are not going to like it, but wet braid stick to every thing. Especially light braid. You might want to try a whole new level wind syst...

Re: JDM Certate 2510 PE-H Locomotive Level Wind

I was thinking of picking up this reel because I am fishing 10 lb. braid for deep vertical drop-shot fishing and I am finding that all brands of braided line (coated and un-coated) don't fall off of the spool of my Sol 2500 smoothly. The line sticks in the peaks and valleys of the braid and hesitat...

Re: MHX High-Mod Gen 2

The Gen 1 812 is a very good jerkbait/topwater rod for 1/4 to 1/2 ounce baits. I primarily use mine for this.

Re: JDM Certate 2510 PE-H Locomotive Level Wind

Casting is not an issue because the momentum is strong enough that you never feel the resistance. It is only when I drop my line straight down that it doesn't come off of the spool smoothly. It's really annoying to have your bait slowing and speeding up when you are trying to drop on a fish that you...

Re: Nrx ubr (knot catching on guides)

Tie a shorter leader? This is an option that we sometimes have to do. It sucks to have to use a shorter leader, but the deflection off of the first guide can cause your line and knot to catch on other guide(s). I experienced this problem recently with Smackdown and shortening my leader helped the p...
