Re: What should I pay more for the Rod or the Reel

Cast and wind techniques definitely go for a more expensive reel. Worming, jigs etc. however will call for a more sensitive and therefore more expensive rod. Or just spend $150 on each.

Re: fishing nets

Luckily members such as Zimbass and others are prepared to help out with maintenance related questions and FishShimano pops in every fortnight or so to thank all for their questions.

Re: Steez 103HL getting rid of Hot Sauce and using something

Isn't the Hot Sauce supposed to bond to the bearings "molecularly"? Wouldn't that mean you couldn't get all of it off? I have long suspected that this is just advertising BS :^o . If their products were so radically better than any other then I'm sure they would also probably be way more expensive ...

Re: Red hooks?

I don't understand. Fish supposedly can see Red hooks and they eat baits more readily because the look wounded. Fish supposedly CAN'T see red fishing line.... hahahaha I smell a fib somewhere. Read the article in the link above. Explains the science behind it. Up to you if you agree with the it or ...

Re: Shimano Metanium 13, 15, 16, DC?

Well, I was about to purchase the 13 Metanium on Amazon when I realized that the price went over $300. Fortunately, I found a Japanese website that was selling the 13Met for $281.34, so I ordered one. If anyone is interested, I purchased it from Tokyo Sport Fishing . Not much mention of this vendor...
