Re: 5.8:1 gear ratio, too fast for crankin?
Help me out with this, Suppose you had the same crankin stick and line but various reels of the same manufacture with different gear ratios from 7.1:1 on down to 4.8:1 and you was using the exact same lure, standing in the same place and duplicating every cast with each set-up. What would be the dif...

daiwa advantage supertunned
Does anyone have any gripes about this reel? What technique do you use it for and on what setup?
To TT Staff, what is your opinion on this reel? Would you tournament fish with it? Although it's not a "high priced" reel is it not a solid performer? Where does it fall short iyo?

reel upgrade help needed (Green Curado)
I am about to get two of the old green curados, I suppose they will not be the bsf's. However I wanted to know if I can "upgrade or supertune" them and to what extent? I don't even know where to look for parts or where to start. I really need some help on this one. I am at sea right now but when I g...

Re: I need YOUR help. rods loomis/powell/dobyns
The cranks I will range from DT6's to radar 10's. Fat free's to bandits 100 and 200 series. In the stickbaits, livepointers and x-raps to rouges and yo-zuri's. I have a 7foot crucial c/b rod med/hv and I only use it for very deep water. Most time when I fishing a tournament it is as a none-boater so...

I need YOUR help. rods loomis/powell/dobyns
I am out to sea once again and have had my heart set on a Powell c/b rod but was a little curious about the dobyns rods and surf'd over to tw and then on to the Dobyn's website. I really did not acquire that much information on them. I am looking for a c/b rod and was thought about Gloomis ( they cl...

the other frog/ help
Frogs like the stanley rabbit and yum buzz frog, what type of rig are you using to fish them? What size line mono or braid? I have been using braid for the spro frogs but not these, I use mono. What length and action of rod are you using? I have tried all types of hooks but only two have done well. ...

Re: all around help needed
Thanks for the replies, I wanted a 6.3:1 for my small to medium cranks. I have a 5.1:1 that I like for deep water and big cranks on a med-hvy crucial. This rod is a glass 6'6" and I am just experimenting I guess. Plus if I don't like it I can have a "in the middle reel". I power fish alot and so I u...

all around help needed
hello everyone, here is my situation. I brought a diawa zillion (first mistake) in 7.1:1 and I hate'd this reel at first. I paired it on a loomis 812 I think s/b rod. I had a Curado d in same ratio. Well it was hands down the shimano. I just caught more fish, had greater sensitivity and got a extrem...
