Thanks for all the suggestions. Very much appreciated! I will tinker a bit over it and see if any BF deals will entice me to try something out. Will keep you posted!

Re: Looking for recommendations for a swimbaits rod for 6-9 inch soft baits
Really tough at that length... but off the top of m head Legit Design's WSC72H+ might suit. It's taper is a little slow on spec, but the rod is pretty stout. I think it can handle hook setting duties with softbaits. Here's the review: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewlegitdeswsc72hplus.html Thanks C...

Looking for recommendations for a swimbaits rod for 6-9 inch soft baits
Hi all,
Looking for a shorter (max 7'5'') swimbaits rod to throw 6-9 inch soft baits ( main bait will be a 8 inch hudd).
No specific budget. Open for any type of suggestion. Would like a decent warranty though, and prefer well balanced rods.
Thanks all!

On JapanTackle it states that this is a smaller body than the 2021 Antares DC. A new 150 size frame.

Re: In search for a light popper and small crank rod
Decision was made! I am keeping the Legit Design Rod WILD SIDE Casting Rod 6'6" Med Lt. It was a close decision between this and the 6'6 Medium. I tested all the rods briefly at my Dock and here is my assessment in detail: * Abu Garcia: as mentioned here already, it is too light and more of a BFS ro...

Re: heavy combo reel decision
If you want to bomb cast the lures, the HLC would work. In case you want to apply techniques where precise lure placement (ie pitching/flipping) is required, I would not go with the HLC. I personally have no experience with the Bantam, but I heard that it is a solid reel. I am throwing in some addit...

Re: DON'T BUY CONQUEST 200/201XG IF YOU WANT CLICKER
I noticed that too when I got mine. While this is definitely a loss, to me the 201 XG is noticeable smoother than the 201 HG and 101 HG that I had previously owned. Not sure if this is due to some internal changes, or the fact that i completely disassembled, cleaned and lubed/oiled the reel before I...

Re: Jig rod selection
On the other hand. If you do more of vertical jigging in deep water, you might actually consider a rod that has a bit more give, to give them enough time to inhale it.
Hence the 7'9 H might also be an option to consider.

Re: Jig rod selection
Hi, Lots of decent rods to choose from. Out of your list I would choose between the Conquest and the Steez XH for that kind of lure rating (probably 1oz +). Wondering why you fish these have jigs if it is just open water? Are you fishing super deep and want to get down there asap? I would exclude th...
