Re: Pre-ICAST spy photo!!!
What makes the z so special that its the same price as a Tiagra 50 wide long range special???? I mean that 3d brake system is nothing special. Its not made of some rare material from an asteroid or something....so what's so special??? Well, I suppose you could say the same of DC technology which, u...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
with the 8lb nano I was able to deadlift 9lbs 5oz before breakage using a 9 turn single uni. the double polomar had a range highest being 7.5s lowest being 6 even. Alot has to do with any twist in the loop. Which with very light wirery vs springy line is not easy keeping track as to wheter its strai...

Re: surf rods. IMX surf or st croix legend extreme?
I went against the grain and voiced my displeasure of the legend. I had the 10'6 .75-4 rod. In comparison to my arsenal of tiralejo rods. It didn't have a fit. It didn't cast any better than the 10' shimano. And I didn't like the action at all. It was way too fast for my liking. And it didn't handle...

Re: 2 speed reels
The low gear of the Talica is just a muscle gear. Its nice but not usually needed. I fish talica's, and tiagra's. Shimano is going to be nice enough to give me a few talica 25's to torture on some tuna. Its nice to know that you do have that muscle winching gear when a big tuna is doing its death ci...

Nanofil.....knots.....
http://www.stripersonline.com/forum/thread/807563/nanofil-and-knots Figured I'd post a link to the thread I started on SOL. As it pertains to this line and its knotting nightmares. I haven't put it on my knot testing jigs as of yet as I've been preoccupied with other things (rigging tuna gear) But I...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
I'm not gonna bother reposting what I wrote as it got erased as I posted. But the skinny of it is. Don't bother using floro via a line to line splice...The strongest join oddly enough was a slim beauty. Not known as a strong knot. And even still it was weak and easily broken with bare hands. As far ...

Re: What is your favorite fishing knot
Miller Knot ( i forgot the name of it awhile ago and for some reason call it the GENE SIMMONS knot :D and it stuck) Its simple to tie incredibly strong, and very easy to tell if its a good knot. It can be used quickly and easily in all situations something the polomar can't do) On top of that it wil...

Re: DC Friendly Line
Been using suffix 40 on my 200 dc for awhile now. I like its semi abrasiveness as its easier to free / cut off grass when fishing around vegitation. Much easier than the slicker braids from daiwa, berkley and JB. In regards to using hollow core?? 60lb??? really that stuff breaks at close to 100lbs ...
