Re: Ultra light casting rod
I was looking into buying a spool but I wasn't sure if it was the reel or the rod holding me back. I love the MHX blank for 4in worms. Casts a mile and still has some backbone. I would buy the spool but I'd be out over a hundred bucks if the problem was just the rod. I guess the spool wouldn't hurt....

Re: medium or medium-heavy? that is the question
I like using the lightest rod possible. Look into certain rod companies that tend to make rods on the powerful side. Abu Garcia usually under rate rod power a bit so a medium Veracity would be in your range. You can find them for 99.99 to 120 online.

Re: Ultra light casting rod
My intent was to almost phase out my spinning UL. I'm not looking to cast super tiny stuff. I just like to fish under powered rods. Casting small lures like a small Panther Martin or panfish cranks would be my lower limit. I think the X fast tip is the limiting factor.

Ultra light casting rod
A year and a half ago I built a 6ft MHX ultra light using the Spin Jig series blank. I have a PX Type R with 10lb braid on it. I love the rod for weightless worms and small jerkbaits. I wanted to build a rod for casting real ultralight stuff and I feel the rod is too fast for really light stuff. Wil...

Re: Daiwa T3 after a year
I know this is old but, could there be a greater chance of grooving at the end of a long cast? The line would sit lower thus, be more prone to rubbing. I haven't noticed any rubbing but I have a Helios which has "mini" guides and under normal conditions I havent seen any rubbing. It is far too cold ...

Re: T3 ballistic vs other t3's? wut's the diff?
My research leads me more and more toward the 1016. Im not sure the spool is a huge factor because I will not be throwing light lures (PX-R for that). If it casts better than my Revo Rocket, it may take its place as my trap/buzz/whatever else I need to a fast reel for. The 8.1 ratio is very appealin...
Re: t3 dilema
Should I buy the T3b and upgrade spool and bearings handle or just buy the t3? I have a t3b and I really like it, I want to buy more t3's before they are gone. I am in the same boat as you. I dont have either but I was weighing my options as well. What is the true difference between the T3Bxs and t...

Re: T3 ballistic vs other t3's? wut's the diff?
So, from your experience, you are saying it isn't worth the $90 dollar upgrade (T3B to T31016)? After I bought a handle, a couple bearing for the knobs, there's $40 right there. I hate making changes to a stock reel before I get to fish it. (Still have ice on the water). I do have a couple of nice h...

Re: T3 ballistic vs other t3's? wut's the diff?
I know this is an old thread but TW has a great deal on both the T3B and T3 1016. I have the T3Bxs (8.1). I get 10% off at TW so I got it around $98. I can get the T3 1016 for like $180. I have a few things concerning which one to get. (I will only have one or the other) I can sell the T3B if need b...
