I use the Daiwa Battler series of rods quite a bit. The original cast rods have an offset handle. Used with a 100 size round reel they are very comfortable. with a LP this is definitely not the case for me, however, I have not tried one of the larger framed reels such as a 200/300 size Daiwa or Shim...

I have never owned a Presso or a Pixy SPR, I have however used both about half a dozen times. Probably a total of 30hrs with each reel and maybe a dozen fish with each (probably a couple more on the SPR than the Presso). I have no real preference for split or full grips. However I do find most full grips to be too large and bulky. Most full grips in cork that I have used have benefited from a bit of reshaping to narrow the cork at the point where the heel of my reel hand contacts the grip. The full grips I most pref...
