Re: Rods You Have Aquired For 2019

i plan on adding a MB Javelin. seems like a great rod to launch single hook moving baits. im so happy with the balance and feel of the Daemos and FMJ that im not worried at all about the purchase. id love the CNQ 905 for small/medium swim baits and offshore fishing but the price tag is too high for ...

sensitivity doesnt get better. put something lightweight like an aldebaran on it and you will be spoiled for life.

Re: Megabass F5-72X Daemos

i agree word for word on what vishus said although ive never tried squarebills on it. jigs and t-rig (1/4-3/8oz plus plastic) is what i mainly use it for but also great with single hook moving baits in the 1/2oz range. i even like it for 5 and 6 inch senkos. the daemos and the fmj have become two of...

Re: All around spinning rod (NRX v. ST. C LE v MB Add)

the nrx 852s is my favorite spinning rod. i think it sits right between st.croix ML and Med powers. if i only had one spinning rod it would be this one, no doubt. a ML st croix might be a little better suited for light DS and small mushroom ned jigheads and a Med st croix for 1/4oz jigs (+ plasitc) ...

Re: Still in love with my 803!

man, your kistler reviews and stuff ive read in the past makes me really want to get one. please dont tell me they have something similar to the xpeditor service. i still have my old 852glx. the nrx 852s "feels" a little less powerful and has a bit more tip. i know you dislike spinning but if youre ...

Re: Still in love with my 803!

sorry, read this the other day and didnt realize you already had it. im very surprised you didnt get good offers on that 50. if it was a 51, i might have got it from you! while ive not fished the new 803, i have fished plenty of loomis 3 powers. i think it will make a good shallow water light jig an...

Re: Still in love with my 803!

goldrod - i have not heard much about the newer glx 803. is there a reason youre looking for a "short" rod? i still use the old BCR version. i even bought a spare a few years ago because i was scared of breaking it. still have the original and spare and no plans on selling them. its still one of the...

Re: $300 spinning rod for bottom contact techniques

id recommend the nrx 852s except i wouldnt like 1/2oz plus plastic (or even 3/8oz) but it will handle it fine. the LE 6'8" mxf would be a good choice. i havent fished the new glx 853 but it might be worth looking into. loomis MH are less powerful than st. croix MH but still prob not the best choice ...

Re: Conquest 842S or Megabass Addermine

I can honestly say Loomis/Shimano Conquest is a bunch of smoke IMHO. I will get flamed but doesn't float my boat in anyway shape or form even with all the PR mumbo jumbo and prehype. I thought for sure they would have easily had me with that offering :-k I haven't fished them so take that with a gr...

Re: Core 51Mg7 Handle Upgrade

i tried some of those handles (Chronarch/Metanium) but ended up with straight ones on my Core and Alde mgs. for some reason it rubbed the drag but i have heard others having success! if you decide to drop a little more into it that reel, check out the 7.7:1 brass gears if you havent already. http://...
