I know some of you were looking for replacement gear sets for the 50 Series Core/Aldebaran. EReplacement Parts has the factory 7.0:1 aluminum gear sets in stock. Brian.
Nice!

Re: Any faster worm gears for the Millionaire?

It looks like I can get the SV105SH worm from Plat, thinking I'll go that route and grab a Millionaire CT spool tension cap as well. Maybe I'll grab the SV105SH gears as well, looks like I can get those too. Dang, WOW! The 7.2:1 makes the Millionaire so much more applicable for more techs than the ...

Re: Tuning Isuzu reel

Awesome pickup. There are considerable upgrades to the 441 in comparison to the 421, I'm sure you have read about them. I've got the 421 and have upgraded everything except the line guide. They sold out quickly and Try-Angle says they are not sure when they will make more. Best to set an email noti...

Indeed. I purchased a few nylon lines from Varivas. I got the super soft and the bass. I've only had the opportunity to fish them once so far, but I'll report back when I have a little more use with them. So far so good.
Koolio, appreciate it bro.

hit the other sellers on amazon tab and see if there is an amazon japan option Well now this is a game changer. I’ve been scrolling most of the day and it’s clear the current global state of fishing equipment goes like this; *insert company name here* JDM: Here’s all of our premium level equipment ...

Re: Silver Thread AN40 versus McCoy Mean Green

for what its worth, Sufix Siege in Smoke Green is the best overall mono I have ever used. its limp enough to use on spinning gear (casts great in 4-10 pound tests) and awesome on a baitcasting reel (I use 12 on my curado 200) not sure how it holds up in line comparison tests though I agree about Su...

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC

Weak epoxy on MB reel seats and the elaborate components have been repaired by owners and sellers for a long time, this said the blank and design and aesthetics is what always made many OG models legendary and highly desired. FWIW, the pretty metal locking metal foregrip nut on the Gen I Poison Adr...

Re: Silver Thread AN40 versus McCoy Mean Green

Try this Gamma line...even in 8-10 lb it's an excellent performer. A bit more stiff than Mean Green, but strong and more abrasion resistant like the AN40, about the same as PLine CX but stronger.

Re: Any faster worm gears for the Millionaire?

I'm not sure if the OG Alphas worm gear levelwind is compatible, but I'll ask Tim to chime in.

I have an OG modded/tuned CVZ 103 with the OG Zillion 1016 SV spool and it's a great pairing. Still, the levelwind worm gear is the original from the 5.8:1.

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC

I buy Megabass and forget what issues with rods even means 8-) The locking fore nuts on MB have historically cracked, have paint chips, and have the carbon weaves and components come unglued from the fancy metal locking nuts. My LWL Super Diablo II has had the elaborate metal locking foregrip nut s...

Re: is Daiwa tatula still the reel to get?

Top choice for what rod, techs, line, etc.?

I'd opt Tatula 70/80/100 for a lot of techs for sure. Or a nice used OG Daiwa if one came up in that price range. The Fuego CT is also a very good reel.

Shimano SLX is up there as are some closeout Curados in that price range, if you prefer Shimano.
