I normally will tighten drag star all the way down before tighten the nut with hand. Use wrench only just a little bit and to align the screw hole with nut cap.

I use spinning gear only for Neko Rig and glide some Ned Rig. I don’t think nowadays with shallow spool bait caster reel, weight is a main issue to use either ones. Holding the rod with my finger on my dominant hand make me move/twist the lure easier and more precise.

Really depends, landing 10lb fish is not as abused as pulling snag with the reel or cranking some big deep crank. I can cast with left and right. Right hand no problem whatsoever but left hand back hand is pretty accurate but no distance, over head and side arm, good distance but no where near I want it to be.
