Re: Shimano Exsence Spinning

FWIW; The Certate LT in my opinion is even up with the Stella, I own both brands but chose the Certate over the Stella after handling several of both with cash in hand and price was not an issue since I wanted a Stella, I now own three LT's and they have held up wonderfully so far, and are still but...

Re: Steel head Reel questions

I felt a significant upgrade from the Bantam I had and the Steez A I now have, I was not impressed with my Bantam so I returned it and bought the Steez A, on the first cast i was pleasantly surprised with the upgrade. I'm shocked at how smooth Daiwa gears are, Shimano Micro module gears are not even...

Re: 19 Certate LT or JDM Exist

I caught a few small Salmon on the Certate Sunday and all I have to say is wow that is an amazing reel, its as smooth and easy to crank while working a fish as it is without, I had to remove some of the grease from the drag to free it it up a bit for fast running fish on light line (faster it spins ...

Re: Shimano Stradic 19

I have the opposite problem most of the JDM reels don't have enough line capacity for us Salmon and Steelhead guys! maybe we could start a spool exchange program? JDM spools for USDM spools  I have to pass on most 2500 sizes because I will get spooled on the first run! ](*,)

Re: Steel head Reel questions

I use a lot of reels for Silvers, Chums and Reds here in AK and my favorites have to be Metaniums 2013/MGL and the Steez A all spooled with 8-10lb line. I have tried a bunch of reels but those are my favorite so far, it depends on the line capacity you expect to need, for me after Kings are done I d...

Re: Opinions on $250-$350 reel

I had a Bantam and replaced it with a Steez A, there is big difference between the two it's on another level over the Bantam in just about every respect.

Re: So... Fireline

Save that fireline for a spinning reel if it doesn't work out, it works great on them! Just a thought :D

Re: Ultralight Spinning Reel for Wading

With Daiwa there is the Fuego LT 1000 great reel and are crazy smooth with Mag seal, For the money you can't beat them, up the ladder from there is the Ballistic LT 1000/2000 with Mag seal, they are all super light and smooth as butter.

Re: Knocking Daiwa LT Reels?

I talked to Daiwa service this morning and they were great as always, I just have to decide whether to return it or send it in for warranty. It's nice to call a company and speak to fisherman rather than someone who only knows the business side of things. My friends used to thank me for being the gu...

Knocking Daiwa LT Reels?

Has anyone here experienced knocking from there LT series reels when under load? I just purchased a two reels for throwing spinners, a Saltist Back Bay 4000 and a Tatula 4000 and both of them knock when under any load. I returned the Back Bay thinking it was defective and ordered the Tat. and experi...

Re: 19 Certate LT or JDM Exist

I just ordered a Certate LT 3000-CXH, I'm going to put it to work on smaller Salmon species with 6 & 8lb line. I'll follow up down the road with my take on it.

Re: Is the Steez SV TW currently the best low profile bass reel on the market?

Starting with I only have the last couple generations of Metaniums and a Steez SV and Steez A to compare head to head. I had an Antares for a short while as well... My 2 cents is probably yes, I have been a huge Shimano guy for 30 years and when i finally tried the the SV I was impressed and when my...

Re: Shimano Tranx 300/301 or Daiwa Lexa 300HD or Lexa Winn 300?

FWIW the Lexa 300 has served me very well and is an absolute tank, for me the Lexa palms better, I was going to buy the Tranx 300 but after handling them for a little while i preferred the Lexa, and i'm still running Curado 300's also (one of my all time favorites). My original Lexa 300 has out last...
