Re: Best Sub $300 Ultralight Spinning Reel
You have been given some good suggestions here. I have the Ballistic FW 1000 and have tuned them the same as the inner workings of the Daiwa DaySprout...it is the same except for the color. As a matter of fact I have 4 of them that are all tuned....great reels no doubt. If you can find the FW at a g...

Re: Ajing rods for rigs under 1 g?
Thanks for the replies, I certainly appreciate all the opinions. I should've given a bit more background for my question. I have some experience fishing JDM UL rods and generally agree that many can handle jig heads under 1 g. You can fish them without much of an issue. Of those that I have fished,...

Re: Ajing rods for rigs under 1 g?
Thanks for the comment. Any particular reason you'd go with the Superior? I have several JDM UL rods, ajing and mebaru, with upper ratings in the 3–5 g range, but none of them handle jig heads under 1 g well, in my opinion. I'd be curious to read your suggestions. I have been researching the Ever G...

Re: Ajing rods for rigs under 1 g?
I do not own any of those rods but am familiar with the Ever Green. Any of those rods you have listed will do you just fine.....personally, out of the list I would go with the Ever Green. But there are many rods that can handle under 1 gram jigs.

Re: JDM crappie rod suggestions
Just got Diawa Kage UL from TT. Great rod. Very sensitive but a little surprised at the action. I had hoped it would load better for casting 1/16 ounce jigs tipped w 2" curly tail. There is no margin for error and you have to be dead on perfect with your cast or who knows where that jig will go. An...

Re: Heading down the rabbit hole
CM_Stewart runs Finesse-fishing.com, which is a great place to get JDM gear stateside. He carrries Rayz and other JDM gear. Pleasure to deal with. And...dont have deal with customs fees either. Curious Hobie-Wan, have you dealt with custom fees? Perhaps I'm fortunate but I've never had to pay custo...

Re: Heading down the rabbit hole
Having used a number of high end ajing rods to trout fish with on rivers...the Caney Fork....White....Little Red....they are not ideal....and area trout rods are best left home unless the current flow is slight. I trout fished in a big way until back problems stoped me from wade fishing. Now that I ...

Re: Abu Garcia Eradicator 6' 7" Slow Taper Special.
A bit more data. I became very very curious about the Eradicator after Alphahawk on his youtube channel wrote twice that this rod is is favorite rod of all that he owns. So I got one just to measure. Though I never keep any of the JDM rods as I prefer to fish with what I build, I am always curious ...

Re: Ester or PE Braid?
I would just use it. I can tell you I tested them extensively and there is .2 pounds difference between the two. I wish the Varivas came in 3# test. Regards Me too! But wonder if line management would get even more difficult. I have found the higher you go up in ester line ratings the more manageab...

Re: Ester or PE Braid?
The need for a leader with ester line is for shock absorption. You could probably get way with not using a leader on small fish.....but without the stretch that leader gives you larger fish will pop ester in a heart beat. I land a lot of KY bass....Smallie's.....white bass on ester, but without that...

Re: Looking for recommandations for a UL trout rod
Since Global Rakuten closed it has become more difficult to get Graphiteleader rods for us in the states. I have contacted several of the shops that sell the Super Bellezza but none will ship FedEx or DHL.....and no telling when I would get it with the slowdown of EMS to the states.

Re: Did I choose the correct size for my new Daiwa Exist LT FC?
Hello guys ! Just recieved my new Daiwa Exist LT FC 2500S - C from Japan(through Ebay), and was hit with an instant doubt regarding the size of the reel. I have not opened it yet, so it is eligible for return if I choose to do so. I will be using the reel for trout, pretty much exclusively, working...
