Re: No lord, please, not another version of Jack Hammer
If your looking for a unique sounding bladed jig, look no further than a Nories Hula Chat. I’ve got a great JDM bait shop very close to home and he just started stocking the Hula Chats. I’ve been curious about them for about a year so I’m definitely going to give them a try. Very funky blade to hea...

Re: No lord, please, not another version of Jack Hammer
Interested to see how different the sound is. That is one of the key characteristics that sets the current Jackhammer apart from others for me Agreed. I have a buddy who isn’t the most eloquent that said “it’s going to tink instead of tunk” lol he’s probably right. We also were guessing as to a pri...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation
This got off the reservation fast. OP’s budgets is $200-$300 and sure he can look for some screaming good deals on used rods here and on BBC but most of these rod suggestions are way over budget

Re: Tatula SV casting distance.
It does have an agressive braking profile but still casts plenty far for regular bass fishing use. I can cast all the 50# Trilene braid off the spool with a Terminator Walking Frog when thrown on a Megabass Hyuga 72H and don't have to thumb the spool even on splash down. Same. I can almost spool ou...

Re: New Tatula 150
The description makes it sound like the 6.3:1 will come in left hand. There was some early confusion on this one. The Left hand is only offered in 7.3:1 unfortunately. That's a bummer. I am hoping Daiwa starts putting a Steez TW type sideplate ( like the one found on the new JDM Zillion HD)on all t...

Re: Daiwa baitcaster handles upgrades?
I retired a 30 year old Shimano BBM-VR a year a so ago rather than spend any additional money on it. It now sits on a shelf enjoying its retirement and reminiscing about the good ole’ days and just how many fish it caught. I can’t speak for everyone but I’d recommend doing the same. Modern reels, ev...

No lord, please, not another version of Jack Hammer
Thanks to Mike_son for bringing this to my attention... though I should probably curse him No mention of hardware upgrades so all I can find out is it has a new Tungsten resin head. The head on the current model is already small and at this point the blade is what gets hung up in grass...so other th...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation
Man, this is one of those questions that’s going to get so many differing replies because what we all end up dialing in as our “ultimate” jig rod is such a personal preference. I don’t flip or punch but know a ton of guys that do and those guys like the mod-fast mag heavy action rods because they do...

Oh,...I thought you were getting a 6-6. Hell if I’d known you were getting a 7’ I would have said the MH-XF all the way...just kiddingWannaGoFishing wrote:Thanks for all the input and feedback, which really played into my decision. Placed an order for the 7’ Helium LMH-F earlier today.

Re: Kistler Helium3 vs Megabass Orochi vs St Croix LTB
If you’re throwing mostly chunk trailers on 1/4 & 1/2oz jigs you can easily get away with the LMH-F H3 Kistler. I’d stay away from trailers like Mag Rage Structure Bugs as those weigh almost 1/2oz by themselves and would put you just over the 7/8oz max recommended lure weight. I don’t like my MHXF H...

Re: What is your prefered reel for jerkbaits
If there is anything I have noticed, jerkbait gear seems to be very very different from person to person. Gear ratio? I have used and 7.3:1, 6.2:1 and 6.4:1. I much prefer a slower ratio as I am more concerned with presentation than I am with picking up slack. I use braid as a mainline so too fast ...

The +2 in action. New MegaBass video released today. Can’t wait to try them out on Lake Michigan. Curious what line he’s using to get it down to 16’

It’s MG Secret Shadow and I’ve only seen it available as a JDM color, got mine from a Japanese Ebay seller. I picked it up for night fishing shallow flatsgoldrod wrote:Aquaftm45 wrote:What color is the lure in the right column third one down?
It looks like it has a streak of gold going down the side.
