Re: Stradic FL plastics
Any chance of finding out or is it secret squirrel stuff? I'm just interested as the previous iterations of Stradic with the half alu half plastic always mentioned the XT7G plastic, this particular reel has been disregarded all together.

Stradic FL plastics
Hi Dan. Can you confirm that the body half on the new Stradic FL is XT7G* plastic or a revised lower end / Ci4 / non mentioned composite? IMG_20190915_081124.jpg Picture attached of the body half showing what seems to be some sort of fibre in the PA, but just no denotation of +GF? Thanks in advance.

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
Second hander, but unused. Just a very lucky break.
Absolutely our retail is ridiculously high in comparison...

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
I just bought one second hand Stradic FL, BNWB completely unused for a third of its price... Stripped it down and pictured the heck out of it for others. What can I say is that its quiet a bit parts heavy compared to the FK (if not similar to the Stella SW-B) but pretty well remade and better spec t...

Re: Shimano ch100 side plate stuck
Spray a penetrative spray in behind the spool, and back off the cast control right off to get a small gap, get it in there and allow to penetrate for a while... I snapped a Curado B key turn because the side access cam screw were slightly corroded into the frame, didn't use penetrative oil but Salt ...

Re: Curado 70 spool tension loosening on its own
The hardest part is getting the same OD, ID and thickness of the O Ring and also a chemically stable variety that won't swell with some greases and oils. I tried getting one for my 1979 Abu Ambassadeur 6500 C and my mate who works in a O Ring and seal supply shop had to send me a dozen of them and o...

Re: Curado 70 spool tension loosening on its own
Replace the knobs O Ring (BNT 5320), or even use a silicone variety. Ive noticed on my Curado K that it's done the exact same thing...

Re: How are BB1’s so smooth w/o bearing supported pinion gear?
We don't get Lews here so can't evaluate the spool shaft, but if it's anything like the full pinion and spool shaft contact like earlier Curado B's (unlike the BSF), can't have any pinion wobble if there's no room to move. The spool of the old Curado being supported by 3 bearings however, the pinion...

Re: Round reel love?
I've just managed to find a Calcutta 250 TE DC in absolutely immaculate condition throughout, not a scratch of any sort... (Looks to be just lined and the put in storage itself until sale)... IMG_20190907_162027.jpg IMG_20190907_162048.jpg Just performed a full tear down and rebuild, then straight i...

Re: 3D printed line guides.
Varying grades of 3D printers and their capabilities.
Would be a good way to proof of concept and then build upon it I guess.
Other than injection moulding the part I could also assume that 5 axial cnc could also work but yeh cost blowout.
I may order a OEM line guide and do some tinkering...

Re: 3D printed line guides.
I'm an ideas guy with zero access to anyone willing to do anything here in Aus... Ask a machinist to do a small job of making new nuts for my Curado E handle knobs shafts that'll take bearings for the outer side of the handle... Pfft it's either a reoccurring job of 10,000 units or "expletive off".....

3D printed line guides.
Has anyone thought about printing up a custom line guide for their baitcaster reels? So you could make a custom guide to fit, so a copy of the basic layout and improve the line guide to your liking. Buy a Fuji line guide say Torzite, Sic, or Fazlite whatever your flavour, size well you could go what...
