Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

Not Magforce-Z, but sv-Boost : https://jdmfishing.com/vault/boost-system/ Daiwa tells some revolutions: The induct rotor of SV BOOST reaches the braking force 2, that is, stage 3 at once during the full cast. Spool rotation 15000 rpm (* 1 minute rotation speed) or more instantly applies braking for...

That sounds correct. That is how I understand the system to work.
Thank for your confirmation that you think it same :)

Is Shimano SVS Infinity 6 purely centrifugal brake or not

I don't have Shimano SVS infinity, but looking a video of it: https://youtu.be/k0Mrgdll2lE System seems to me that brake pads in there are jointed cranks, and when rotated, mass centrum of these tends to tilt these until other end of crank meets control surface, which in this case is a cone, which c...

Re: Why Magnetic Braking System Than Centrifugal Braking On BFS reel?

I am a Daiwa Fanboy when it comes to bait cast gear. But Shimanos FTB system seems to be the best for finesse. the Shimano system has removed all unnecessary weight from the spool to make the spools as light as possible for less start up inertia, a centrifugal system has to have that weight on the ...

Re: Why Magnetic Braking System Than Centrifugal Braking On BFS reel?

I've noticed that its magnetic braking from Shimano, Daiwa and Abu Garcia; even Kasking is using magnetic than centrifugal. Why is that? It's the braking profile. Magnetic brakes has linear brake curve, with exception of slowest revolution, where it goes asymptotically to 0. https://www.irjet.net/a...

Re: Ktf steez/alphas Air 28mm

My KTF spool cost almost same price than reel itself (ct Alphas). I decided that KTF's are way too high priced for me :) Air brake spools casts a little longer than fixed inductor brakes. Or if you are excellent in thumb braking, then it might be different story. Roro's has nice spools for lightest ...

Re: Ktf steez/alphas Air 28mm

I don't have experience with 28 mm KTF spool, but I do have 30 mm KTF spool. That spool is amazing good, long casting spool, but it is ridiculous expensive. For 28 mm I would purchase (KTF made) normally priced standard Alphas Air spool instead of KTF spool.

Re: Daiwa's SV Boost Braking system studied.

Sv spools inductors are vulnerable :) I received one, which was a little sticky, it was nearly impossible to find any fault in the mechanism of it, but when casting it, then it was clear that it didn't move like it should. I couldn't fine any fault of it, but changed Ray's inductor and ramp to it, a...

Re: Daiwa's SV Boost Braking system studied.

Lowrange, that is possible. Actually I don't know . I don't have sv Boost spool, so I can't check it. But I think it is possible that firstly inductor presses both springs, when spring rate is 1/ke = 1/k1 + 1/k2, and after some compression part '114' touches to inductor and after that soft spring do...

Re: Daiwa's SV Boost Braking system studied.

Does that part '114' (plastic part connecting stiff spring to weak spring) anything more than just connects springs together and supports springs? https://www.plat.co.jp/parts/DAIWA/STEEZ-LIMITED-SV-TW/00630201.pdf Or has it any effect to spring compression or inductor movement? ...And furthermore, ...

Seems like it's GRASP reel seat: https://stcroixrods.com/pages/lt-bass-grasp_2022-07-11?utm_source=traditions&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=traditions+ltb+grasp&utm_id=traditions+ltb+grasp&utm_term=2022-07-11 I guess Grasp is named acc. to Glock :) : https://loungecdn.luckygunner.com/lounge/media/g1...

Re: New 2021 Daiwa 月下美人 “Alphas” Air TW PE Special

I use chameleon spool as well. The spring it comes with is weaker than stock daiwa springs. Same time the inductor don't slide as well. So weaker spring = faster braking. What I did to mine that improves is take out the spring and stretch it then put it back it. It will increase more spring tension...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

Yep except on non boost SV spools the inductor would stay extended for a very long time at middle dial settings when paired to the harder casting US anglers are known for. This lead to widespread belief that SV spools were overbraked or "choked off at the end of the cast". This lead to the developm...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

In the beginning of cast it's very fast acceleration and by (inductor's) momentum of inertia creates moment to inductor ramp which creates axial force as a result, which extends twisting inductor. Why wouldn’t the immediate build up of emf be enough to twist the inductor? Why would it have to be ac...
