Re: Curado 70XG first... And second impressions
I fished my 70 XG today. All I can say is this is one sweet reel. Like the previous post, smooth cast and really effortless. Once you dialed in the brakes settings I was able to throw a 1/8 oz split shot rig with a zoom finesse worm. It didn't struggle at all. I didn't even break it down and cleaned...

Re: Shimano Zodias+Lews LFS
I thought that was a Daiwa on a Shimano rod. I thought lews and Shimano just makes the reel pop off the reel seat while reeling in a fish?LgMouthGambler wrote:If you put a Lews reel on a Shimano rod, there tends to be a chemical reaction and it ignites.

Actually didn't think BT's post was trolling. I think you reacted to quIckly. Let us know what Shimano did to fix it.

I haven't used my 70 yet because of the weather. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Re: your favorite $100 rod
I just picked up 2 of the Browning Superlight rods at BPS to try out. On sale at $80 with an added $15 off with Spring rod trade in deal. 7' Med rod comes in at 3.44 oz. Worth checking out. I was eyeballing them on Sunday at BPS. They look and feel nice. Didn't pull the trigger though, if you don't...

Re: Nrx vs Glx
Nice, I am hoping to get my first NRX as a Birthday present this coming June. I've dropped hints with my wife...haha...I own 3 GLX (853,854,894) and asked for the 893C or the 852S. Gave them options so I can have a half surpised.
Let us know how you like the 895!

Re: YOUR favorite jerkbait stick
My favorite jerkbait rod for this would be my M/F 6'6" St. Croix Avid. I also like my reaction Cumara 6'8" MH/XF too, but not as much as my Avid. There is just something about it that makes it perfect.

Good review, makes me want to get one. I own the GLX Version and love the stick, can't even imagine that a NRX would feel.

I second smalljaw and Bootytrain - I own both those rods as well. You can't go wrong with both of them. I also bought mine for 99.99.

Re: Fenwick Aetos A701MHFC Initial Thoughts
I haven't had those problems as listed above on my 2 Fenwick ET rods and 2 Aetos rods. I've fished the heck out of the spinning rods (1 Aetos and 1 ET rods), I've also am using the Heavy/Fast Aetos as a Carolina rig, very sensitive rod and performs very well. I guess it's like any other manufacturer...
