Re: Certate LT weak bail issue?

Undo the non-line roller side of the bail and see where it springs to. I bet you've got a slightly bent bail wire and it just needs a little bend to get it sitting right, then the bail will close properly.

Re: Last chance at a 72H Hyuga

I have the 2 piece 72H which I use when travelling, very nice rod. I had a ML spinner which I thought was very poor. Funny how two different rods in the same series can be so different in design quality.

Re: Shimano Stradic FL (Smootheness)?

I've just bought one, a 3000HG to try out. I've not had a Stradic since the original white ones 20 odd years ago, which I didn't enjoy because of the start up inertia. I've used Daiwa reels ever since and enjoyed them, but thought I'd give the FL a go. Seems like a nice solid reel, very smooth, but ...

Re: Cast Control Unlike Any Other: 13 Fishing Launches the Innovative Z SLIDE Baitcaster

The only time I touch my mag dial is when it's moved itself from where I set it due to Daiwa's daft placement of the dial, right where my hand rests, so it gets adjusted accidentally.

Looks like a great feature for catching your line on when you get a backlash. Hope it works better than it looks.

Re: American Blanks...is it ever going to happen?

While the American market wants long no fault warranties there's not much motivation for them to make higher modulus thin walled blanks that require care in use, not being trodden on, bounced around in rod lockers and being used to boat flip 5 pounders.

Re: snapped plastic pin found inside reel

I have had the same thing happen. For the life of me I can't remember what the cause or the solution was though! Sorry. I think it's fairly common, so someone will probably be along to let you know soon.

Re: Interesting Take on Drop Shot Knot

Make the twists in the opposite direction so the line seats against the other side of the eye.

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

Looking forward to seeing what they've done with the spinning rod handles. The casting rods don't look too bad, at least they've put a spacer between the two parts of the reel seat, so it's a solid unit and can't flex like the same design without the insert.

Re: 1st time. BFS Aldebaran: Quick braid vs fluro question

If you want to use a line other than braid, I'd use mono. I don't believe there are any advantages to fluoro below about 10lb, but all the disadvantages are magnified.

Re: Evergreen Limber tip or Olympic 17 Finezza Prototype

I've a Corto Nuovo prototype which I've been very impressed with. hyper crisp blank, very strong backbone (relatively) and has caught all sorts of species for me and boat flipped a lot of them. I did manage to snap 1.5" off the tip by my own foolishness trying to untangle some line while holding the...

Re: Pro Bass Fisherman

Fishing isn't like sports like tennis. You can be the world's best tennis player and you will win nearly all the time. You can be Kevin Van Dam and not win for years. The gear pros use is generally worse than most of the guys looking at these forums use as they're using stuff that they're selling to...
