Re: Any opinion?
I own the 15lb, and it’s very accurate. When we weigh 5 bass for tourneys our total is always within 1oz. Very easy to judge what the weight is, even when it’s between the lines. Not sure how IGFA does it for records though. They have been doing it for years and don’t seem to have any issues certif...

Re: Inshore reel for 7M Expire glass
Scorpion will be fine, the spool is not magnesium. MGL stands for MagnumLight not magnesium. A friend uses one, fishes a lot and has no problems with it. Also have several friends using the 70MGL with zero issues.

Can’t go wrong there, looks like a well thought out kayak with some good upgrades from the original.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 3:18 pmThink I'm going to splurge and go with the new Titan Propel X 12.5 when it releases.

Re: Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG
Pretty sure its aluminum at 5.2oz. That’s lighter than the Aldebaran Mg. They have the wrong gear material listed for the Stile SS as well. Japan Tackle has done that several times since '07, when I joined TT. Yep, and won’t change it if you tell them it’s wrong. I just had experience with the Stil...

Re: Yak help... Questions
The top of the line kayaks from each company will be very stable. Native Titan and Slayer, Hobie Pro Angler, Old Town Predator/Bigwater PDL are the big 3 that are quality kayaks. I went with the Old Town because of the warranty, lifetime on the hull and 5 years on the drive is leading the industry. ...

Re: Ceramic Bearings from AliExpress?
If you are fishing the salt, you really need to grease those frame bearings as they won’t last long running them dry. Freshwater is completely different. TSI 321 and factory Shimano/Daiwa stainless spool bearings are all I use in the salt and haven’t had a corrosion issue since using TSI. I had trie...

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)
A dab of superglue and a little bit of baking soda will close up that gap, assuming you mean that the eye opens and allows the knot to slip off the bait. Yep they are junk, please don’t buy them ;) Super glue and baking soda will not hold up long. There’s to much flex, and the blade acts like a lev...

Check out Jettsonlures.com
All the custom lure eyes you could ever need. Glass are always the most detailed, but they do break. All the others you mentioned are available to purchase if you want to swap eyes. Pointers with down looking eyes look pretty good for example.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Few pics from the last 2 days. Definitely gets interesting with light tackle. Can’t chase them, and with 85yds of line you can’t just let them run. Gotta put some pressure on them and it’s quite the battle. Caught on one of my GCCL shallow 110’s in Ayu on a custom Conquest 842c/Stile SS 151hg. https...

Re: Looking for help on NRX + 873
I wonder, would adding this balance kit void the warranty? I would always recommend calling and asking for your own peace of mind, but I’ve completely rebuilt NRX rods and had to use Xpeditor for a replacement with zero issues. If you slam your rod in a car door, Xpeditor covers it, so no doubt reb...

Re: Shimano Stile SS
Last I checked I couldn't locate any of the 17 model...are the current ones still the same? Also, Japan Tackle states it already has high tensile brass gears? https://japantackle.com/reg0000216.html That’s the reel in the link. Not sure about availability, looks like they discontinued it. JapanTack...

Re: Shimano Stile SS
Jeff, what year Stile SS do you have and is it still available? I looked on several JDM sites and couldn't figure out which model you have. I have the ‘17 Stile SS 151, a few HG and a couple PG. I see they call it SVS braking but it’s the same as VBS. The Aldebaran version is really nice too, but I...

Re: Shimano Stile SS
I use the Stile SS for my saltwater reels, and love the performance and durability. Finesse style VBS brakes are very controlled and the reel casts extremely free and far. The Curado E/Aldebaran MG always felt choked off to me with the normal VBS brakes, but these newer finesse brakes are what I was...
