Re: Sol rotor problem
The rotor is supposed to fit tightly on the insulator, although I've never noticed any glue or epoxy on either one. I seem to remember some small tabs machined on the insulator of another Magforce V reel, but it was not a Sol. As I recall, the tabs mated with detents on the inside of the inductor to...

Re: Fuego, Need Help
You can use this article as a guide for disassembling and lubing your reel, although it's not the same reel (it's close). Between the article and your schematic you should be ok:

I've been on a few of those listed that were nasty. Lake Erie and Lake Michigan bring back memories of getting getting seasick in big-rolling waves. However, my worst for kidney hammering, boat slamming, 'you know what' puckering waves were: 1: Lake of the Woods ; steady 40mph winds from the west bl...

Re: Phase Charger
I replaced my on board charger in my Nitro when I got back from Canada in July. The dock the boat was tied to took a lightning hit overnight, and fried my old charger. I was able to limp through the rest of the last week, but decided to get a charger that would charge both trolling motor batteries f...

NBS, Here is a page that lists schematics for the various TD-X's. Just scroll down and find the one you have: http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/index.php?path=Daiwa/&sort=name&order=asc&start=800 If you can get the handle side plate off, disassemble everything on that side of the reel so you...

Re: TD-SOL baitcaster
You can: - Replace the handle with an after-market handle that has bearing(s) under its knobs, - Upgrade the spool bearings with higher precision bearings to improve casting performance, - Change the stock carbon-telfon drag washers over to Carbontex drag washers for improved drag performance, and -...

Re: spool stuck in a tdx103
NBS, Try removing the spool after you depress the clutch. Depressing the clutch should cause the spool to disengage from the slots in the pinion gear. If you still can't remove the spool, then the pinion gear is either corroded onto the spool shaft, or the spool bearing attached to the spool is corr...

Re: daiwa alphas 103
josh, A 1/8 oz topwater is going to be a little tough on an alphas 103 in my experience, especially if it is the least bit non-aerodynamic. 1/8 oz total weight is right on the bottom end of what the reel can do, and because of that the rod you use will be pretty critical in that range. (You'll need ...

Re: TD confusion
In addition to what skeet said, the 105HL flipping reel has 2 additional bearings, for the idler gears that drive the level wind. The 103ML/HL doesn't have the idler gears.

Re: Props
goldrod, I primarily use prop type baits in clear water, when the fish are not aggressive or are not actively feeding, or when there is just a little too much chop on the water to get a good action from a pop-r. For calmer water, when fish are aggressively feeding I'll usually use a pop-r, buzz bait...

yplee, Here is a picture of the bushing that gets replaced with the smaller bushing and the new bearing -- that's the best I have. Disassemble the reel to the point referenced in the Sol Maintenance article, and then remove the front plate, and cap, pawl and levelwind worm gear. Remove the old bushi...
