Re: When choosing Daiwa tuning spools
[quote="africanbass"]I can only help with the T3 info. The 1012 RCS spool offers little,if any performance gains over the standard T3 RCS spool. The SLP 1010 spool is great for super accurate medium/short range applications. This spool is not readily available and relatively expensive. Will however mak...

When choosing Daiwa tuning spools
http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/tuning_spools_daiwa.htm So I have some questions. What are the differences between these spools other than the obvious. What makes one better than the other, and what does each spool excel at? I'm looking to upgrade Zillion / T3 platforms, but not sure what di...

Re: Shimano Power Septon knobs question
You don't need them. I replaced the same reel with the same reel knobs, no washers - no play/wiggle. On a side note I was amazed at how the knobs spun when using ABEC 5 ceramics vs. standard bearings.

Re: Best of the best 4 line types
Excellent idea for a practical thread! Sufix also tends to be a confidence company for me. I like Elite mono; inexpensive, manageable, low memory, strong, abrasion resistant. Both Performance and 832 braids have been tremendous choices for my bait caster uses. The only braid I'll use with my spinni...

Best of the best 4 line types
From personal experience, what are the absolute best "all purpose" lines you have used. If you had to pick up a combo filled with one category of line to fish several presentations, what line would be on it? Feel free to go into detail as to what sets it apart from the others ;) Granted I haven't tr...

Re: When Braid Has Clear Advantage Over Fluorocarbon ?
Anytime I have a fluoro leader tied on to the braid! I also think braid with a fluoro leader has a clear advantage when long line trolling on top with a hard bait, as I can easily tell what my bait is doing at all times through transmission. If I pick up any sort of junk on my trebles, I instantly k...

Re: Sufix Invisiline
Chode - I don't think your going to find a fluoro that offers the same kinda taught line sensitivity as braid as it all stretches. A nice soft braid handles better than a fluoro IMO. The "harder" fluoros do offer some nice sensitivity, but you sacrifice handling characteristics. I will say that Sufi...

Whats more, you can cast far enough not to see the splash and the PE SP mode it autobrakes on touchdown

Re: Straight up long distance
I throw a lot of 1/2-5/8 oz rattle baits like the Xcalibur XR-50 on a Curado 200DHSV mounted on a Crucial 6'10" MH power F action rod. Although the tip is rated a fast action it is still pretty soft. I have this spooled with 10 lb mono and I can cast as hard as I want and it absolutely bombs everyt...

Straight up long distance
You tie a 1/2 oz rattle bait, tied to your favorite "distance" line, mounted on your favorite moderate stick and let her rip. Which reel makes you talk like Roland Martin - SON! This one may be a bit shocking, but I had Ian tune an Daiwa Aggrest (I know, what was I thinking). I know distant is hard ...

Which of these Shimano frames to you prefer?
The reason I ask is because I really can't decide. For those with smaller hands especially, which fits better. Yes, I know the 50 series - but between these two. The 100's seem to sit higher and be a bit longer, but the 200's feel a little wider to me making them a bit harder to wrap my hand around....
