Re: ML bottom contact rod recommedation

I'm on the prowl for a dedicated 1/4 oz finesse jig/bottom contact casting rod. Total bait weight=8-12 grams... Has anyone experience with the Shimano Expride 72ML(A or B?) and would it have have sufficient power? If I had $600 I'd just get the Daiwa Steez AGS 'The Sensor'...but on paper the Sensor...

One thing I have noticed is that these rods a smidge heavier in weight than others of same length and power ratings that incorporate the T1100G and M40X.
The SIC guide train could play a role in that.

Re: Jackall Revoltage

The street price for the new Jackall Revoltage is about 28000 to 31000 :D For a rod with To 1000 and M40x, the price is too good to be trure. In my opinion , this is a much better buy than Days 360 with 16 models. https://www.jackall.co.jp/bass/products/rod/revoltage-rod/revoltage2023/ Check out th...

Since my last post, I have done great with the Jackall Deraspin in 3/8. It is a smaller profile, but only also has 1 blade, so the 3/8 version can run fairly deep. They also have a 1/4 version and a lot of good colors.
Yep, have a handful of these 👍

Re: Straight up long distance

I'm still going with a T3 or Steez SV TW with Zpi PG or M... Unless casting heavy baits over 3/4 oz.

Re: It’s 2023 so can we all now agree

I continue to use the EZ keeper. I can put them where I see fit, and they have plenty of space to accommodate most everything. Aside from that, I think Kigan designed the best hook keeper... Like the one's ALX was using.

Re: Any Good Newer Topwater Lures?

I found another one that worked, Deps Pulse Cod. It's not really new. I bought it about 10 years ago. I didn't like the sound that the spring thingy created. It sounds kind of like Boing lures, which don't get bites. I wanted a little bigger popper (1/2oz or bigger), so last week, I brought the Pul...

Re: Fav small cranks for smokin and burning?!

Another bait I forgot to mention but have been using a lot lately is the Jackall Mushbob. Silent bait with magnetic transfer weight and a coffin style lip that dives 3-4’. Casts like a rocket and very accurate with that transfer weight in a small fat crank. MR version is even better, but let’s not ...

Re: Daiwa Blazon Mobile - other travel rods?

I really like my Daiwa Black Label travel. Five piece stick, fishes great. Very versatile. I have the 7ft medium and use it for everything from bottom contact to top water. I've used quite a few multi piece travel sticks, but, this one is here to stay. You could also look at the Megabass Triza and t...

Good stuff...I've been curious about the PB for some time as well. K2 brittleness has always kept me from making a move on one.
My understanding is that this was primary just a batch. Never had any issues with mine. Well, except for the one I stepped 😔

Re: Fav small cranks for smokin and burning?!

Look into the Lucky Craft lineup. They have several baits that would work well. My favorites are BDS1, LC 0.5, 0.7, 1.0, SKT mini. BDS is a fat little squarebill that goes everywhere and deflects off everything. Dives to 3’ or so and burns nicely. Glad they brought these back! The LC series is all ...

Re: Fav small cranks for smokin and burning?!

This won’t get much love on this site but anyway, take a look at the Bomber Square A. The larger of the 2 sizes offered is 2” long and weighs 3/8 oz. It’s a stubby little beast that comes through anything I’ve ever thrown it into like a 4WD truck. It has a single rattle that throws off a muted one ...
